Re: Trump Staff Picks

We reject the ideology that by giving money to schools the federal government buys the right to manage the schools. School management is not among the powers delegated to the federal government by the. Constitution. The governments should not, and should not be allowed to, change the Constitution and acquire more power by spending tax money. Alas that is the democrat plan; use tax money to buy power denied to the federal government by the Constitution.

This isn't about management, it's about the basic function of government: protecting the rights of its citizens. The federal government not only may but is morally obligated to decree that if an institution doesn't support the rights of citizens, it doesn't get any federal money.

BTW, it's actually a Republican plan: Ronald Reagan tied not just protecting basic rights to getting federal money, but the drinking age. Democrats just stole the idea.

The Rumour Mill:

So the White House has apparently tracked down the source of a number of leaks and they are in the process of being fired.

And is McMaster on the way out? This would be a direct win for BannonCo. and with the possibility of Kushner being sidelined, a boost to the hard core nationalist bloc in the West Wing.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

This isn't so much about staff picks as it is about the Donald's responsibility to appoint appropriate people to fill over 500 critical and necessary positions within the US government. Did anyone else pick up out of that mishmash tweetstorm this morning the supposed criticism of Congressional Democrats not to approve his appointments?

Re: Trump Staff Picks

In total, Trump has nominated just 63 people for those 559 key positions. Of those, 39 have been confirmed, and there are another 15 awaiting nomination – meaning Trump has said who he intends to nominate but hasn't bothered to send the Senate the paperwork. For example, as many are noting today, on January 19, the day before he was sworn in, Trump announced his Ambassador to the UK would be Robert Wood Johnson. He has yet to file the appropriate papers. On March 9, Trump announced his Ambassador to Russia would be Jon Huntsman, Jr. Again, no papers filed. March 16, Trump announced Patrick Shanahan as his Deputy Secretary of Defense. No papers filed.

From the above article, once again...it is so clear that Trump has no idea how government works and has a White House staff that is so inept that they can't even get the paperwork in.

He obviously was in a complete rage today though. Hopefully someone gave him some Covfefe to clam him down.

^ What do you mean? She's eminently qualified.

“Responsible for organizing, executing and assisting with upscale events and celebrity golf tournaments,” her LinkedIn profile says. “Handle celebrity talent acquisition for various marketing projects, philanthropic events and golf tournaments.”

I wonder what position Pee Wee Herman will be given?

Re: Trump Staff Picks

But he has picked the person to run New York's social housing program...an events planner with no experience in housing.

Trolling America. One appointment at a time.

Affirmative action in action. Obama would have made her Attorney General or Treasurer. Republicans are not big on socialism so do not regard Federal Houseing programs with favor.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

In another brilliant move, Trump has nominated a Republican fund raiser to be the US Ambassador to Canada.

Kelly Knight Craft will be nominated by U.S. President Donald Trump as the next ambassador to Canada, according to a statement from the White House.

The White House has reached out to officials at the Canadian embassy in Washington to make their intentions known.

<snip>

Knight Craft is married to American billionaire coal magnate Joe Craft. He's the president and CEO of Alliance Resource Partners L.P., the second-largest coal producer in the eastern United States, which operates 10 coal mine complexes in five states, according to the company's website.

Well at least America dodged this bullet.

Nutjob David Clarke has withdrawn from consideration for Homeland Security.

Heck of a job there Clarke-y.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

And then there's this guy. TrumpCo. is doing exactly as I had predicted. Filling posts with the worst of the worst. Partly because no one wants their career to be tarnished by serving under him and partly because the White House is determined to put trolls everywhere.

William Bradford, a senior Department of Energy official, apologises for a string of bizarre comments, including the suggestion that Barack Obama might try to stay in office and a 'military coup' might be the 'only answer'

EPA To Dismantle Rule That Protects Drinking Water For 117 Million

The Environmental Protection Agency is set to undo yet another Obama-era environmental regulation after releasing a proposal on Tuesday meant to dismantle a rule protecting rivers and streams from pollution.

The latest target from the notably anti-environmental administration of President Donald Trump is the Clean Water Rule, which in 2015 updated a longstanding act passed during the advent of the EPA to clean up heavily polluted federal waterways.

EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt released a 42-page plan to do just that on Tuesday, the first step in a complicated, rule-making process experts have described as a “huge task.”

Who the fuck is Anti Clean Water?:grrr:

Re: Trump Staff Picks

Even when the staff picks drop out of consideration, they are still around...

Nonprofits backing Trump have deep, swampy ties
In late January 2017, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani announced their “newly-formed” political nonprofit devoted to promoting President Donald Trump’s agenda: Great America Alliance.

Todd Ricketts, who recently withdrew from consideration to be deputy secretary of Commerce due to the difficulty of disentangling himself from his business interests, has been a key player in “dark money” operations for years....

The Ricketts also helmed the 45Committee and Future45, which spent over $40 million in the 2016 election. 45Committee, another 501(c)(4), has continued spending to praise Trump’s nominees and policies, and has invested in other federal races. The family’s flip to support Trump has been startling: During his campaign, Trump threatened to expose the Ricketts’ family secrets after Joe and Marlene Ricketts gave more than $5.5 million to Our Principles PAC, which opposed Trump

Trump Appoints Anti-LGBT Activist To Gender Equality Post: The Trump administration has appointed Bethany Kozma to the position of senior adviser for women's empowerment to USAID. Kozma previously worked in the George W. Bush White House before spearheading a campaign to combat President Obama's instructions to public school that would allow transgender student to use the bathroom matching their gender identity. USAID has multiple programs providing assistance for women and LGBT people.

Figures.

Hateful fuck.
