Not much of a surprise but the general consensus seems to be that, once again, Trump wrote a press release and somehow got other people to put their names on it. The only thing that is a surprise is that one of the lawyers whose strange e-signature is on the letter is actually a reputable attorney. Or was a reputable attorney.

It might have been more fun if they just released a letter quoting the lyrics to the old Styx hit "Renegade".

Rareboy hit it spot on by bringing up the now-forgotten Dr Bornstein. Before Trump dumped him for the male-pattern baldness gaffe, Dr Bornstein admitted that Trump called him up and dictated the "astonishingly excellent" blood pressure and "If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency," letter.

I often wonder, why do these people with reasonable reputations and licenses keep getting tangled up with Trump? This might explain it:

After he got elected, Dr Bornstein claims that Trump's bodyguards raided the office and took all of Trump's medical records. At the time, Sarah Huckabullshit-Sanders claimed that the records were being "transferred to the White House physician's office". That White House physician, Dr Ronny Jackson, is now a member of Congress. Sanders is now the Governor of Arkansas. Funny how that all worked out.

I will again go out on a limb here and suggest that the US will NEVER charge or convict Trump for espionage because of the damage it would do to US credibility and standing.

And the fear of what could actually come out in any open case in court that would endanger US assets around the world.

We know there's fire. But there will be so much smoke no one will ever see the flames.

And no one will get in his way of running for President again because of his espionage either.

I will again go out on a limb here and suggest that the US will NEVER charge or convict Trump for espionage because of the damage it would do to US credibility and standing.

One of the issues with espionage charges is that the evidence against the defendant is often Top Secret and the Feds worry that having Top Secret documents in court evidence and discovery would risk leaking the Top Secret documents to the public.

On the other side of that argument, Trump had a cafeteria buffet of secret, top secret and super top secret documents that there might be enough low-level documents to get a conviction without risk of a leak of the super-secret stuff.

Being found guilty of Georgia's RICO statute can result in a 5 to 20 year prison sentence. Getting that done before 2025 would be a dream come true. Finally.

I'll disagree with one thing, the more clearly guilty Toad is, and the more ironclad the evidence against him, the more likely it is he's going to run for President.

The only crime needed for conviction is mishandling classified information. Sandy Berger took one documents and cut it up with scissors and they threatened him with a year in jail and $100,000 fine.

There's three ways this plays out:

• Trump takes a plea deal. The possibility of this coming with time in prison might kill this option.
• Trump fights the charge and likely will die before he goes to prison.
• Trump tries to flee the US. His choices are limited because any US ally is likely to extradite him. That leaves a few countries like Russia or North Korea. This sounds like something out of a spy novel but, with Trump, it is entirely plausible. If that happened, the US would have a big problem.

By now, if they were certain of where this was headed, they could have scared Trump into absolute silence if they had him on Treason.

I am cautious about using any logic in predicting Trump's behavior. Trump stopped acting rational somewhere in 2020 and his irrationality increases with each passing day.

Trump might have thought that the "I'm going to tell what I know" or "I'm going to run for President" thinking that this might make DOJ back off. Those efforts haven't ended it and they may have just been more inspiration for DOJ to emphasize their belief that no man is above the law.

There are certain patterns of behavior that Trump uses that are out of the Roy Cohn playbook that Trump defaults to when there's a threat. Trump is confusing the court of public opinion from his supporters with the court of justice. His supporters love him. The judicial system has had enough of Trump.

What we're seeing is complete Narcissistic Collapse and he is going to be making increasingly self-destructive moves. He will continue to do irrational acts. He will continue to run his mouth and get himself into more trouble. And the consequences will continue to accumulate.

If Merrick Garland wanted to let Trump off, he would have done so by now. I think Garland is playing the long game and knows that this is all likely to end when Trump dies or when Trump spends the rest of his life in prison. Or both.


I would also add that we're seeing similar patterns of self-destructive behavior in Ken Paxton.
