Trump this.

And, of course, he can no longer launder rrrZZZn oligarch money by having them pay a hugely overpriced sum like he used to do in his heyday....

He is almost the literal embodiment of the anti-christ and yet half the country doesn't see it.

I refuse to post clips of his speeches....

"Get that war settled. It’s a bad war. And Putin, you know, has so little respect for Obama that he’s starting to throw around the nuklerwaraterry…you heard that. Nooklyar. He’s starting to talk NOOK-lyar weapons today."
—Donald "I have no fucking clue who the president of the US is." Trump, March 2nd, 2024

Donald Trump has always had issues with basic reading skills. Since he's too vain to wear glasses, he frequently makes rambling gaffes that he tries to cover up because he can't read the teleprompter.

These Obama and Haley type gaffes happen when he gets off prompter and tries to ad lib. This is an election in which neither candidate has participated in debates or long-form interviews with the Press. It would just take a single aggressive interviewer to show whether Trump is this confused about the basic facts... like who he is running against.

What's worse is that Republicans make excuses, saying that he's making jokes or just exaggerating. That's the bar these days- Presidential candidates who make jokes about nuclear war. Har har.

Meanwhile, Trump could be seen at the border peering through barbed wire, waving to "the rapists" and "worst people" on the other side, who he believes, "love Trump". Birds of a feather.

Trump is apparently getting the AI black women vote.

Someone needs to do an AI "La Chancla"* meme. 🩴:)

*If you don't know about La Chancla, it's on YouTube under "The Secret of La Chancla" (it features minors, so I can't link it).

No surprise that it was a unanimous vote by the SC to prevent Colorado from kicking Trump off the ballot. As the case was heard you could see how weak the argument was. The 14th Amendment was designed to constrain the states not to empower them. But they did not weigh in on whether he had committed insurrection.

I suspect that a cartoonist will create one of those circular cartoons that says, "McConnell says Trump shouldn't be impeached and blocked from future office, it should be left to the Courts" and ending with "The Courts decide that it should be left up to Congress"...

Who wants to guess what the Supreme Court said to Colorado?

This wasn’t much of a surprise, even the 9-0 outcome. I can only hope that the price of that unanimous decision is a similar outcome for Trump’s absurd claim that he has universal immunity as President. That one also should be 9-0 too but with Thomas and Alito voting I can see a 7-2 decision and Roberts gets a win.

There is no deal or promise that Uncle Thomas, Alito et al will honor. That's been the problem with the Dems for years, they keep getting lied to and then going back for more.

What this does is set the stage for the S.C. to handpick the next president.

what the USSC actually did, and did not rule, in their supposedly "unanimous" verdict yesterday

What they have done is again pointed to the fact that Democrats need to fix the SCOTUS problem.

They did two things that are very problematic:
  1. They went beyond the question that they were asked... like they did with Dobbs. Everyone whines about the Court legislating from the bench, until it's their turn in power.
  2. They just made it easier for convicted insurrectionists from Jan 6th to run for Federal Office.

Remember this guy? He's been saying that he's going to run for Congress from Arizona. The Court just made it a lot harder to prevent him from being on a Federal ballot.

This is what craven, amoral politics looks like:

Some pollster must have told Trump that the RFK Jr plot to take votes away from Democrats was backfiring because of the anti-vaxxer votes that Republicans want.

So...

A former lawmaker raised alarms after former President Donald Trump's vow in Virginia to defund public schools that require vaccines.

Trump, who has repeatedly vowed not to "give one penny to any school that has a vaccine mandate," repeated his call during an appearance in Richmond on Saturday, according to former Rep. Barbara Comstock, R-Va.

"Trump said in Richmond, that he will take all federal funds away from public schools that require vaccines," she tweeted. "Like most states, Virginia requires MMR vaccine, chickenpox vaccine, polio, etc. So Trump would take millions in federal funds away from all Virginia public schools."

And another guilty plea from a Trump employee:

Allen Weisselberg, the former chief financial officer of Donald Trump’s company, pleaded guilty Monday to lying under oath during his testimony in the ex-president’s New York civil fraud case. His plea deal will send him back to jail but does not require that he testify at Trump’s hush-money criminal trial.

Weisselberg, 76, pleaded guilty in state court in Manhattan to two counts of perjury and will be sentenced in April to five months in jail — his second stint behind bars after serving 100 days last year for dodging taxes on company perks.

In pleading guilty, Weisselberg found himself caught again between the law and his loyalty to Trump, whose family employed him for nearly 50 years, sent him into retirement with a $2 million severance and has continued to pay his legal bills. His plea to perjury is further evidence that, rather than testify truthfully in a way that might harm his old boss, he was willing to again spend a chunk of his golden years in jail.

Why have the accountant and the lawyer for the Trump Org gone to prison but none of the principles have been sent to prison?
