They will. Because MSG is very convenient to the rail lines, people from nearby States will find it convenient to come (and to leave early when they get bored). There's also a lot of Trump voters on Staten Island and Long Island. Since the LIRR and NJT come into Penn Station, it is convenient.

Each campaign is supposed to execute a memorandum of understanding regarding transition assistance with the General Services Administration by Sept. 1 and with the White House by Oct. 1. GSA’s agreement covers office space and information technology support, while the one for the White House entails transition staffers’ access to federal agency facilities, documents and employees.

Presidential transition planning for the federal government has hit a snag as former President Trump’s refusal to date to accept official services has disrupted the process from moving forward on a normal schedule.

Both campaigns faced a Tuesday deadline to move into a new stage of the quadrennial transition planning, but Trump’s team is still weighing its options on how or whether to formally work with the government in that process. Its wavering has the potential to hold up preparations for both he and Vice President Kamala Harris.

In contrast, Harris has appointed Yohannes Abraham to lead her transition effort. Abraham served in the same role for Biden’s 2020 transition. The Harris campaign is running behind on deadlines but seems to be playing catch-up on key transition planning activities.

In the Presidential Transition Act of 1963 set up a process where candidates for office create transition teams. Once the winner is determined in November, the President-Elect's transition teams begin meeting with key officials in government agencies to learn about the agency and to receive briefings on the agencies' current activities. This is key information since there is a 2 month gap between Administrations and it may take months for Agency heads to be confirmed by the new Congress.

In 2016, Trump fired his transition head, Chris Christie and after the election, no one from the Trump team showed up for many scheduled transition meetings, as documented in Michael Lewis' book, The Fifth Risk.

The Trump campaign's failure to meet transition planning deadlines again in 2024 is another sign of chaos.

One of the many things that we need to remember from the Trump years, for all the hyperbole of Trump voters who wax nostalgic about "the good old days", is that there was blatant incompetence in many of the government agencies that were run by guys like Ben Carson and Ryan Zinke (now a member of Congress). The incompetence started with their lack of a transition in 2016.

The Federal Government does a lot of small things that have big implications. When there are incompetent people in charge and we have idiots in charge, things get overlooked, missed or just plain allowed to fall apart.

The incompetence in the Trump Administration led to many of the problems during the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020. Remember the fight between state governors to get ventilators? Remember the PPE shortage where healthcare workers had to reuse N95 masks and had to use garbage bags for gowns? Remember when Mpox (formerly monkeypox) spread to the gay community in 2022 and there was no vaccine to administer? All of these things were because the Trump Administration did not replenish the national emergency stockpile. When we needed gloves, gowns, vaccines, ventilators- there were none available because the Trump Administration let critical supplies expire and didn't replenish the supply. Remember Jared Kushner telling Americans that the Federal Government wasn't the supply clerk for the States? Remember that they changed the National Stockpile website after Kushner's statement to make the website agree with what Kushner said?

More than 2,000 ventilators, a key piece of equipment to treat coronavirus patients, in the federal stockpile are unavailable to be deployed because the Trump administration failed to maintain the devices as they were in storage, according to The New York Times.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the federal government is withholding 10,000 ventilators from distribution because of an anticipated surge in Covid-19 cases. But an additional 2,109 ventilators are out of commission because maintenance of the devices was halted during a contracting dispute, the Times reported Wednesday.
