Trump this.

Vance doesn't have the same sociopathic drive and energy of Trump. He would fold like a house of cards.

He also doesn't have the cultish following. It's one of the reasons that Vance has been MIA during the transition.

I am always turning over the question...Is Vance a loyalist...or is he just wildly ambitious?

If it is the latter, then there is hope for the US.... Unless Trump forces him to resign...which is possible, if he has another candidate in mind and has a compliant congress.

I think he is lying low and letting Musk and some of the others implode without having his fingerprints all over possible disasters if he openly supports them.
He did do the rounds though, on the FBI Directorship, which surprised me.

He doesn't use social media and apparently doesn't have a Truth Social account.

I keep hoping that he knows that Trump is on borrowed time and is just waiting silently in the wings.

But he also knows that Trump had no problem with his previous Veep being strung up.

I’m afraid that Vance is a puppet that will be completely controlled by the nut jobs.

He's a puppet. Look at the donor lists for both of the new Republican Senators from Ohio - Vance and Moreno. They are in the Senate thanks to millions of dollars of donors from billionaires in the tech and crypto companies.

It's also bipartisan- Gallego (D-AZ) got big donations from crypto for his crypto-friendly signalling during the campaigns.

the Donald's hope to fly in his new Air Force One has been hampered by delays. Projected delivery date isn't until 2029; and, who knows what additional delays may occur to scuttle that date. The darker paint colors that he wanted are also causing problems with electronics and environmental conditions. :rotflmao:

Biden scrapped the Trump design in 2023 because Boeing needed a decision on the problems with Trump's redesign. Given Boeing's internal problems, it's doubtful that Trump will live long enough to see any changes, much less the ones that he wanted.

He has basically admitted he can't do it.

So all the 'Price of Eggs' voters just look stupider than ever and once the tarriffs kick in on imports from China, Mexico and Canada...his suckers will be eating dirt.

Well, when Harris proposed investigating price inflation by retailers, the Wall Street Journal accused her of price-fixing and said it would wreck the supply chain.

Kamala Harris has fallen victim to an economic delusion. As president, according to her campaign, she would impose national price controls on food and groceries to fight inflation. But presidential powers don’t allow one to best market forces. Mandatory price controls, while keeping nominal grocery prices from rising, would raise the real cost of groceries by reducing supplies and product quality below consumer demand.

Then Trump ran on the same claims and the Murdoch owned WSJ was strangely silent.

Because they knew it was all just more bullshit, dribbling from a liar's mouth.

If the alternative is Trump saying he did lower food prices and his dittoheads then flood social media with their personal stories of how much lower prices are then this is better and certainly more familiar.

I honestly don't know what to reply to that.
I know.

It seems like there's there's some connection to the current high prices of food and the idea that tariffs driving prices up for American consumers will be some kind of necessary punishment because...Canada?

As usual, it is a statement not backed up by any factual evidence whatsoever....just a TrumpCo. talking point that has been amplified by the far right tub thumpers.

Again, 43 pounds of fentanyl doesn't justify Americans paying 25% duty on everything they import from Canada. Like 85% of all their foreign imports of gas and oil. Or all the rare earth minerals needed. Or a shit ton of other products.

At this point in my life, I am so tired of America's shit over trade. Since I was a kid this has been going on.

Trudeau senior was instrumental in turning Canada's focuse to other trading partners when the US would play these stupid games and we enjoy pacts with many other countries and organizations of states like the EU that the US doesn't have.

All this bullshit does is drive us further away from believing we can depend on the US as a fair trade partner or even as a civil neighbour.

We are looking forward to Ontario pulling the plug on power exports among other things in January. And slapping countervailing tariffs on US products that will then make us once again go directly to Mexico, South America, Europe and Asian for suppliers and business partner.

And by the way. If the drugs or the 'illegals' are entering the US through Canada, that is the problem of US border control, not Canada. We have our own problems from the US, including firearms, prohibited weapons, cocaine and other opiods. For example.

CBSA officers seize a combined 246 kg of cocaine at Aldergrove and Pacific Highway Commercial ports of entry (Canada Border Services Agency; November 25, 2024)
