Trump this.

I agree about missing Mary, although he hasn't even followed her expected trajectory.

But he does appear to be exhibiting post-narcissistic collapse rage which is what I think is driving him.

I have seen this behaviour with a narcissist and even though this is ridiculously facile found a few word to describe what we may be witnessing. This is similar to what I saw happen with the person I knew. And it is not dissimilar to what we saw with Hitler as he realized it had all crashed around him.

That's a good article.

These quotes are also worth noting:
In reality, people with NPD are complex emotional beings like everyone else. They live with a mental health condition that has formal symptoms like grandiosity, low empathy, and the constant need for praise and admiration.
“A collapse can also be triggered as a self-defense technique if they feel their self-image or self-esteem is being threatened,” explains Lapa.

For example, perhaps they’ve been exposed for doing something unethical or engaging in a narcissistic manipulation game...

This means that they may be more likely to act in vindictive ways or express rage than people with overt narcissism.
Other signs of narcissistic collapse may include:
  • increased irritability
  • increased sensitivity
  • verbal expressions of strong emotions like hate
  • erratic and non-typical behavior
  • self-harm
  • manipulation tactics like the silent treatment or ghosting
  • anxiety
  • intense anger outbursts

One of the formal symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder is a diminished ability to experience empathy. Because of this, a narcissist may not be able to understand that some actions or words will hurt other people.

This is not really news...but is a timely reminder that Trump has been said to have been compromised for years.

And given his sociopathic, utterly transactional approach...it is still totally credible.

Many people continue to believe that Moscow holds kompromat so juicy that the Russian dictator will always be able to twist his US worshiper right round his little finger.
We will never find out just how dirty the dirt is, when it's subject would throw the entire world under that bus before facing up to the truth.

I for one absolutely believe the Pee Tapes exist, but what the KGB and PutinCo. have on Trump is bigger and darker.

In exchange for his complicity, he was likely not only promised development deals and financing...but also the assistance to win the election in 2016. I think the Kremlin knows the extent of his crimes and misdemeanors including his treason against the US and have ways of getting him silenced.

Just a reminder: Traditionally, Presidents will have their highest approval rating immediately after an election.

In 2017, Trump started low - with approval ratings under 50%. By the end of his term, his approval rating was in the low 30s (which is why he lost a free and fair election).

In 2021, Biden started with an approval rating in the high 50s. He squandered that high approval rating and let Trump and the RNC define his Presidency. He left office with an approval rating in the high 30s (which is why he ultimately withdrew from re-election and largely why his successor, Harris, lost her election).

Trump started, again, in 2025 with an approval rating under 50%. In the course of a month, he has dropped from a high of 47% to 44% and he's continuing to drop.

Note: On the second chart, notice the change with the first Trump Presidency. In past Presidencies, the public had a generally moderate opinion that was not related to party affiliation. Most Presidents came into office with generally good support from all voters, usually there was a variance between 25-50 percentage points between Democrats and Republicans. That changed in 2016 with Trump. Now with his 2024 Presidency, 93% of Republicans approve of Trump but only 4% of Democrats approve of Trump- an 89% variance.

And in a "here we go again" poll that shows Trump going down the economic sinkhole that Biden fell into:

Most Americans disapprove of President Trump's handling of the U.S. economy, despite entering the White House on the promise of lowering prices for consumers.

According to a recent Gallup poll, Trump's approval rating on the economy stands at 42 percent. This is lower than any president's first-term February reading in recent history, Gallup notes, including those for Joe Biden (54 percent), Barack Obama (59 percent), George W. Bush (53 percent) and Bill Clinton (45 percent).

1/3 of the country KNEW he was lying. 1/3 probably THOUGHT this serial bankruptcy artist was full of shit and the MAGAts believe that the White House controls the price of foods.

I would say though, that by blinking over the imposition of tariffs, he lost the advantage. There has been an increasing awareness through media that tariffs are a regressive tax on the middle class and poor and uncertainty is wreaking havoc on consumer confidence and the markets.

And with the slash and burn across the board with hundreds of thousands swelling the unemployment rolls, while the mega-corporations keep ratcheting up grocery prices...balanced with the awareness that TrumpCo. plans on raising the taxes on the middle class while giving billionaires more tax breaks while adding another 4 trillion of debt...anyone approving of his handling of the economy needs to have their head examined.

I think this could end up being a bigger story with Trump's complete capitulation to Putin this week.

The one problem though is that MI6 and other intelligence agencies must have all the details and the story doesn't seem to be coming from inside the house.

And it really isn't a new story. So the likelihood is that there is no trackable record of his selling out to save his own ass.

***TRIGGER WARNING*** 🤮 :vomit:

Apparently, DOGE is visit the Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) this week. This is what was showing on monitors throughout the HUD building:

Apple promises to fix dictation bug that replaces ‘racist’ with ‘Trump’

Apple has promised to fix quickly a bug in its voice-to-text function that briefly swapped words with an “r” consonant — including “racist” — for “Trump”.

The phenomenon, which went viral in a video on TikTok and was quickly seized upon by rightwing commentators, comes as the $3.7tn company seeks to shore up its relationship with Donald Trump’s administration.

Dow drops more than 200 points, S&P 500 slides for fifth day in big market reversal: Live updates

Stocks moved down from their highs as uncertainty around President Donald Trump’s trade policy heightened worries among investors. During his first cabinet meeting, Trump stated that tariffs against Canada and Mexico will take effect. He also declared he would soon expand his trade war to include 25% tariff on goods from the European Union.
