The Republican Congress members have been out on the cable news circuit making excuses and using the talking points (e.g. "narco-terrorists", "fentaNOL!").

What they haven't explained and I haven't heard anyone ask them is, "If this was drug trafficking, why were there 11 souls on board?". If you're getting paid to ship drugs, you want to haul as much cargo as possible which means you don't waste room with non-paying passengers. The truth is that this was probably a human trafficking boat that was taking Venezuelans escaping to another country.

And the other nonsense: the Republicans are claiming this boat had cocaine on it but the MAGA-faithful Congressmen are talking about "fentanol". Cocaine is not as dangerous as fentanyl. Fentanyl is produced in China and packaged in the US or in Mexico. Those boats in the southern Caribbean have absolutely nothing to do with the fentanyl trade in the US. Most fentanyl goes through ports of entry at the border or in uninspected shipments on container ships or through parcel service. Most shipments of fentanyl that are seized at the border are being transported by American citizens or commercial truck drivers who are unaware of what is in their cargo.

Also no one is asking about the millions of dollars being wasted on these militarized video games. The Coast Guard has been doing interdictions for decades at a low cost, without planes, drones, missiles and aircraft carriers. And most Coast Guard seizures don't require slaughtering people to confiscate the drugs.

At this point, it's just lies and cover-up for something they all know is wrong.

It is pretty much trading flat but over the $ 11 dollar mark...as I noted last week, who is trading and keeping the share price at $11.

About 6 million shares a day on average move back and forth within the $10.50 to $11.50 range these days. Small traders aren't driving this, so someone is making money on the institutional or larger investor side. Or losing money. As brokers position their client portfolios to balance gains and losses for the year, the next 2 weeks will be interesting to see if this does drop into real meme share range through neglect and sell-offs...or whether the unseeen hand keeps this charade going into 2026.

I would point out that while we are laughing, Trump is doing exactly what he always does...and often deliberately.

He is making a mockery and devaluing the actual Peace prize awarded by the Nobel foundation each year.

Like his gilded Home Depot appliques that naow really just make all gilding from the past look cheaper, his gilded participation prize from one of the shadiest organizations in the world make the actual Nobel prize award just another made up award created to make an incredibly wealthy merchant of death feel better about himself and to look good to the world he helped push toward its own destruction.
