Trump to Meet with the Leader of the Free World

He is not polling negatively in all polls (Morning Consult/POLITICO put him at 52%). And it's early days, in any event.

I recall all those who placed their faith in polling in the lead up to Brexit. A majority of the pollsters were left red-faced.

Let's see how many approve of Merkel in German elections. Let's see how long she's got left.

When Russia's determined to undermine all effective democracies and replace competent leaders with laughable buffoons, who knows?
Idiocracy is at risk of spreading everywhere.

That goes without saying. What seeing Trump is doing is getting the European populace to question if right wing populists are any better at dealing with them.
Thus thankfully the decision of the Dutch at least to eschew the far right in their recent elections. One test of the newfound power of the nationalist right answered, and some people are starting to back off from them as a solution.

Many people regard Trump as a breath of fresh air. Many people like what he is doing and want more. I predict Trump will be in the White House for eight years.

If he continues as is it will be eight unproductive years. He currently wasting political capital left and right on fighting pointless battles over self-inflicted wounds. He has presented a budget that is laughable. He is supporting a repeal and replace plan that breaks just about everything he promised about health care.

His victories so far are beating a vastly overconfident and seriously flawed Democratic candidate and taking credit for other people's work. His biggest impact on the country is his own bluster and words, which admittedly has had some impact. But as illustrated by his own words in my signature, if he doesn't start delivering solid results soon he will become a laughing stock.

One of the great successes of the press conference was the German reporter asking her tough questions in German so that Trump couldn't just interrupt or dismiss her out of hand.

While he still dodged the actual question..it allowed a journalist to ask the questions that apparently the American press can't.

Maybe this should be the new approach.

He shook her hand upon her arrival, so there is no basic in fact for believing her would refuse to shake hands.

It's just more media hysteria: obsessing over trivial details. How sad. Still I guess it generates revenue for the presstitutes.

You should be happy to know that he has reduced the national debt by 100 billion already; by this time Obama had raised it 400 billion.

That would fall under that taking credit for other people's work or in this case other circumstances. He has enacted no fiscal legislation so far so he is in no position to take credit for the month to month fluctuations in the national debt. The debt fluctuates up and down, and yes by billions, every month based on the timing of various payments and spending.

Not only has he not done anything at all that would reduce the debt, as I seem to remember it, ObamaCo. walked into the worst recession/depression since the 30's and didn't have much choice but to carry on throwing money at it as BushCo. was doing in late 2008.

As Judge Milian would say, "We want more than your flapping gums."

Proof, please.

So he kept going into debt-8 +trillion in 8 years--more than all prior presidents combined.

So the bedwetters here fret about who shook who's hand when, and how the President crosses his arms, which is actually body-language meaning "go fuck yourself".

I remember the look of that anti-semitic ass-wipe President Obama looking at Bibi in the Oval Office...that is body language. I am surprised President Obama didn't give him the bird the way he did Hillary in 2008.

Meanwhile, Trump is steamrolling his agenda. It is you enuresis types who are going to give Trump his second term...ironic that it will come from the likes of vituperative bullies who lives outside the United States of America. God Bless America.

Can you say rope-a-dope?

I loved the part where he said he and Merkel were both wiretapped by Obama. And the expression on her face when she heard the translation.

Very well said.

As for body-language...

^ Nice try at a derail.

This thread isn't about Obama or George Bush bowing to Abdullah
subservientcowardbowsl.jpg

it is about the meeting between the petulant manchild president and his ham handed approach at working with the head of state of Germany.

Try to stay on topic instead of constantly deflecting.

You were the one who first raised the issue here. You can't make rather dramatic and unfounded allegations, and then not expect to be challenged by what amounts to a few posts.

Suggestion: there is no need to become accusatory so quickly all the time. Just use the little

if you feel you have to.
