I have nothing good to say about the president, but I also think this is a non-story. His real and ongoing actions and statements are always revealing that he has a child's perception of who and what a president is.

He is irrelevant in the Houston flood. Anyone who could take comfort or succor from the oaf is beyond my comprehension, so I can't find the president's remarks significant except to the fools who believe anything he ever says.

BTW,

I am NOT a trump fan....... no, I did not use a capital letter on his name on purpose.

I was trying to watch Colbert and Jimmy k and they sound like angry kids. The whole monologue was just cheap shots at President Trump. I had to change it after 5 mins.

Yeah. They have forgot they are suppose to be funny.

I avoid watching the guy unless the Ladies from The View only show a clip and soften the vomit that rises up in my throat with a bit of levity...

Johan helps ALOT in CE&P too....so does rareboy and gsdx and a few other people on a regular basis...

I no longer watch any news except pure local with Pennywise out of the way first....not because it is fake...but because I would rather not hear him or see him.

It is better to think of him in pop culture references as he is.... like the Clown Pennywise from IT...Colonel Flagg from The Stand...and Walter O'Dim from The Dark Tower...except there are heroes in those stories.... and the bad guy is gonna win this time.

Does anyone else think that Trump views all of the negative press concerning his heartlessness for this victims is nothing more than 'fake news'? If he does, at any time now, show some empathy for the victims, I'm sure it will be because he was convinced to do so and there will be no sincerity whatsoever behind his words.

Well duh, didn't he tweet something like "Visited Texas to help the people and fake news are still being mean to meh! Bad, very bad people!!!"

I don't know. Did he? I don't follow him on Twitter and I haven't seen it posted here or in any news reports.

While there he took time to walk on water after all turds do float.

LOL! You guys make me laugh. Not even a natural disaster can stop the haters. Incredible. How petty.

the man is grotesque----you can take cheap shots or whatever at him---it's to maintain your dignity and mental stability in the face of this insane monster.
nearly 60% of this country thinks he's crazy and is destroying this country with hate---you have to be a total loser to not see this---no one with any sense of good judgement think he's a good man.

The point is, Mikey, is that Trump made the "natural disaster" all about HIM. No concern for the flooding. No concern for the displaced. No concern for the dead. No concern for anything except the crowds who came to see HIM. They were looking for consolation and help and they got ME ME ME.

But, you can bet your ass that, if he had a golf course and country club in Houston, it would be a completely different story. As usual, the man doesn't give a shit about America or Americans. He cares only about himself, and that isn't the job he was hired to do.

How did he make it all about him? By not actually going to Houston, he let the emergency services be utilized in how they are needed. I think he showed plenty of concern for the displaced & the dead (31 at last count). But the proof will be in Houston's recovery. Obama was president for 8 years after Katrina hit, and New Orleans is still a disaster. Why the difference in standards?

Well, apparently the bad publicity and the fact that Kim Kardashian got her name in the headlines for donating $500,000 to the Harvey Relief Fund (not to mention the millions more donated by various other celebrities and the fact that Canada is sending tonnes of needed supplies to Texas as requested), Trump caved and is donating $1 million of his own money. Hardly a dent in his pocket change, but I suppose it's a gesture.

Too little, too late as far as I'm concerned.
