What the left should do is organize a boycott of El Salvador's exports to the US.

The news said we are their chief destination for exports. Their largest is knit tee shirts. A targeted boycott could make them regret their posturing with Orange Man.

The Maryland senator asked to speak to Abrego Garcia on the phone, and Ulloa said he cannot arrange that but can try to do so if the American embassy asks. Van Hollen said he will ask the embassy to do so.

A court needs to immediately issue an injunction stopping the relocation of detainees to Louisiana from the states they reside it. Any court should rule it is an overtly illegal tactic to deprive an arrested person the due process of law.

This "what can we do" bullshit has got to stop.

Senator Van Hollen has met with Garcia, albeit at a very staged table in a hotel where Bukele's man put Margarita's on the table to imply some casual setting:

They also dressed Garcia in street clothes, which he is of course no longer allowed to wear.

If the Democrats don't stay on this until he is returned, every last one of them should be voted out. If you're not the opposition for freedom and the Constitution, then get the hell out.

It doesn't mince words about the direness of our current dilemma. The Court acted with such speed, it did not wait for a DOJ brief to be filed, nor did it wait for Alito and Thomas to write their dissenting opinions.

The justices clearly believed the DOJ were about to do another end run and deport, playing the dang-too-late game again. It is depressing as fuck to know that the justices have every reason to believe the DOJ would lie again.

There is also a hint that Alito had the appeal and was sitting on it instead of referring it to the full Courtt, but the appellants were probably wise to that.

Dark days are coming.

On a possibly related note, the Alabama legislature has a bill before it that would allow the State to remove a police chief if they deem him to be ineffective if his city has "high crime". I can see this being a Trojan Horse, an attempt to overreach and fire civil leaders with some arbitrary decision by a partisan board or the legislature. It feels like testing the waters in a "safe state" for the GOP to suggest authoritarian rule if they don't like a sanctuary city, or an abortion policy, or bad bathroom policies, or . . .

The President and his toadies are just SO disgusting. There is absolutely no thought, zero, of leading the nation.

Open vindictiveness and malice are treated as partisan virtue.

No issue, conflict or problem is considered too trivial for the Tweeter-in-Chief to ignore. There is nothing beneath him.

The nation is justly shamed by not only electing such a misanthrope to high office, but for now increasing his approval rating AFTER he has committed far worse crimes than he did in his first term. We deserve the loss of esteem.
