TV shows that jumped the shark and just won't go away.

Revolution.

That jumped the shark in the middle of the first season. It's the end of the world and these tools are dressed like they're going out on a Saturday night.

too many of crime shows have gone over the edge....don't necessarily agree about simpson's , any show that has managed to be on for 25 years can't be too stale lol, it has some crap, but its good out weighs ...tru blood has run its course, but its eye candy.

I gave up on Simpsons after an episode featured a screaming caterpillar. It's still my favorite show of all time but it's sad to see what the show has become.

^ as much as a love South Park, and I truly do. The latest season have been more concerned with making current jokes than funny jokes. I think they lost it :(

I sadly have to agree. That joke about them "being up their own ass with messages" is so true now it hurts.

Nice new animation for their intro though... too bad the first new episode was only funny because of Butters.

I haven't seen it yet. I'll still watch because i love them lol, but part of me wishes they'd go back to making pointless immature jokes.

It went from being a show about finding the best American singing talent(seasons 1-5), to being a show about who can sell the best sob story(season 5 onward), then about who the teen(girls) wanted to win(seasons 7-11), and then more or less about the celebrity of the judges rather than the talent in front of them(seasons 8 onward, though this was most apparent on season 9, 10 and 12).

I think it qualifies.
Well if it qualifies as jumping the shark, it looks like you really have been enjoying the shark jumping as regular viewer. Unless you're just making all that up and never really watched.

Knowing how the show qualifies as jumping the shark and enjoying the Free Willy show the shark gives are two completely different things, as is trying to call me a liar to discredit anything I've just stated. I've been watching - in full or in part - since season 1, so I think my personal viewing has more merit than your very lackluster attempt at an "attack".

South Park is pretty terrible now.
Dexter after a few seasons became sappy and repetitive.

Family Guy is the show that has completely jumped the shark though and totally fell off the wheels years ago.

As far as I am concerned, anything on TLC has jumped the shark, a long time ago...

Ditto A&E.

And lately, Discovery has become the Hillbilly/Redneck Channel. What's up with the Hillbilly/Redneck Obsession? I know 'Moonshiners' is fake fake fake, but are the rest of these people real?

Swamp People made people tune in to the History Channel, so now everyone wants a piece of the Redneck Pie.

Now they're working on the next project - The Amish. By trying to make them seem dangerous... with a mafia.

Which makes me laugh.

Even the Amish are laughing:

The show portrays a group of Amish men in Lancaster County, Pa., who use a series of seemingly legally ambiguous methods — akin to the notorious Italian Mafia — in order to police and protect their community.

But some Lancaster locals remain skeptic, according to Lancaster Online reporter Brett Hambright, who wrote a story on the show.

"The outsiders are curious, but the locals know better," Hambright told MSN News. "They find it more humorous than anything."

Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman told MSN News that he’s gotten letters asking why his office isn’t acting on the show's alleged illegal activities. He said that while he hasn’t watched the show, he’s not too concerned about it.

"No one in law enforcement and no one in the justice system is saying there’s any basis in fact that there are events occurring consistent with what I understand the show portrays," he said. "I have a fairly close relationship with the Amish community here, and there’s nothing coming from them that leads me to believe anything is going on."

I hate to admit that I do like the Amish shows. Not the Mafia ones, but the others. I find their naivete amusing, and I have a sadistic side of me that likes to see their innocence corrupted.

... but the loggers, moonshiners, gold diggers, ice road truckers, and crab catchers... do absolutely nothing for me.

I also enjoy Mythbusters, but even they are getting kind of tired and unoriginal.

Agreed. I enjoyed the earlier episodes when they examined myths such as 'like finding a needle in a haystack' or 'as easy as taking candy from a baby'. These days, it all seems to be about 'spectacle' and stupid cross-overs.

^I didn't even know Bones was still on. Is Fringe?

Now that's a shame... I pop in and out when I'm feeling particularly brainy, so I was hoping the popularity was more because they were expanding rather than regressing.

I just watched the first 15 minutes of Glee.....

sadly it is a bunch of shit with everyone singing beatles songs.

RIP Cory.....I think you were the heart of the cast.

I still enjoy a good bit of mythbusters. Sure it's not the same as it used to be. But anything is better than another talent show or another crime drama.

I still like it... it just seems less educational, and more "What can we blow up today?"

"What can we blow up today?"

Indeed. Early on, "Jamie wants big boom" meant we were in for some exciting television. Now, it's almost obligatory to have a 'big boom' for even the most mundane myths.

And I still hate those crossover episodes.
