A topic about shaving.

Not buzzing away along the Mason-Dixon line, as it were... nothing so southerly.

I am referring to face-shaving. And wet shaving at that.

How many of you still do it, in this age in which facial hair is sported by literally everyone, it would appear? Is it becoming a thing of the past; last practiced regularly by our fathers and grandfathers?

I am a daily wet-shaver. I use a double-edge safety razor, shaving soap (applied with a brush), with soothing, moisturising balm applied afterwards.

The only day I won't bother shaving is on ye Sabbath day, and only if I don't have any plans to leave the house.

I have nothing against beards- quite the opposite: a well-nourished, luxuriant beard is a wonderful sight. I just personally preferred it when such a sight was more of a rarity, to be honest.

I have never been good at shaving. I have to shave twice to get a smooth face.

With Covid, I just had stubble and I would shave it about every 8 days

I'll keep the stubble even though masks are going and people can see your face

Shave clean every morning (I also have to shave twice to get a smooth face) and my hair is military buzz cut so I never have to comb it.

I still shave. Usually every few days now that I'm retired. I tried growing a beard once, but I looked like a werewolf with mange. The stubble look is hot on younger guys. On older guys, it just makes them look lazy or homeless. If you're older, have a neatly trimmed beard or shave is my view, but it's your face.

Yes, I shave every day. I use a spray can of shaving cream into my hand and put it onto my face and use a disposable safety razor. I try to use the same razor as long as I can, perhaps 5 days. Yes, I have to run it over my cheeks at least twice or more to get a clean shave. I do have a mustache which I trim. On rare occasions, if I have nothing planned, I might skip shaving.

i do a dry shave every day
From time to time I do a wet shave, just for old time's sake

I wet shave about every three days. Don't need to be clean shaven for work. I think I look better with some stubble so I use cheap disposable razors.

I have no problem with facial hair but you're right, too many guys sporting beards these days including guys who would look much better without them. Guys who follow the herd are a turn-off for me.

Wet shave once weekly or whenever the itching gets too hard to live with.

I don't shave every morning but I do cut my own hair as a buzz cut it's easier that way

Even now in my retirement I shave everyday. Occasionally I go to the end of the day before i shave. I have always used an electric/battery operated shaver. That is what my Dad did and that is all I've ever known. Only one time that I can recall that I did a "mostly dry" shave. I missed a connecting flight due to weather. So I stayed in a hotel without any luggage. I purchased a disposable razor in the hotel gift store and used hand/bar soap for some lubrication.
