Tyler Clementi

there is a video of tyler playing the violin that cbs and abc news used in one of their pieces on him. is there a way to see that entire footage? unedited? ive googled it and searched on youtube but cant find it. why would those news stations not release that raw footage so we can all hear him playing?

MoltenRock, thanks so much for your reasoned, well-thought-out response. The fact that it does nothing to refute the information assembled by ABC is typical. After all, why let the truth get in the way of cheap sentiment?

like I asked before, why wasn't this info in their confessions? They both confessed, one saying he attacked Matthew after he "touched my leg."

they both had attorneys, right? Did 20/20 claim they were sold down the river? And why is 20/20 gospel truth as compared to other MSM?

and lastly, didn't your Mama teach you, don't speak ill of the dead?

There's a diference between speaking ill of the dead, and making martyrs out of them just because it happens to fit in with your agenda.

wow - still not answering questions -

why did the killers confess? Or maybe you don't believe the police, or the prosectors?

But you do believe (according to you and I guess 20/20 ABC News,) people speaking for killers, who savagely beat up a small guy, and left him to die tied to a fence. Or, did the police/prosectors make that up as well?

KTheLibra, so...in other words, you come on this site just to see people who agree with you and pat each other on the back?

idk... Matthew Sheppard was pretty brutally attacked and killed.

Tyler Clementi was a kid with psychological issues who threw himself off a bridge instead of dealing with life.

what you said.

I was talking to a friend just now about the tragedy of Tyler Clementi, and as a side note, I told him about the strange twist this thread had taken concerning Matthew Sheppard.

He wanted me to ask scrapple, do you think police and prosecutors framed OJ Simpson as well as the murderers of Matt?

Is there a pattern with these high profile cases?

Does anyone here now how I can write a message to Tylers parents.. I now they want to be left alone... But I sure would like to send them a personal message.

Anyone here know how that can be done?

I now they want to be left alone...

Why don't you respect their wish then

I am sure you can find some kind of address if you search for it, too much private stuff about the family is public already. And that is probably one of the reasons why they are not making any kind of public appearance, but only released a statement through their lawyer.

I think in time they'll make their thoughts known but it's too soon now. I'm sure they appreciate all the sentiment that is out there, especially by Tyler's friends. But for now it might be best just to respect their wishes. I know you mean well but for the moment give the family the privacy to grieve. I would want the same thing.

Yes of course you are right Terry.. I am just so upset about this whole thing..
Man, it is so sad.
Just wanted to say something to his folks..
and yeah, they don't know me at all, and I did not know him.

I've lost five friends from jub over my time here.. and while I did not know Tyler, well it makes me so damned sad about the way he ended his life..

But I will find a way to work it out.
thanks for your reply man.. I appreciate it.

Every fall we hear reports of college freshmen committing suicide. I haven't read much about his home life nor have I read anything about his sex partner. I wonder how he is doing.

I read Tyler's OP and he seemed so matter of fact. I wouldn't have guessed that he was just hours away from taking his life.

The fact that we are all expected to be straight and that it's a process of self-discovery learning we are gay has always, in my opinion, been the worst things about being gay.

The way some of us agonize over coming out is incredibly sad.

And, once again, I wish to state that every generation needs to be taught. It's not automatic that young people are tolerant.

I wish Tyler had opted for something other than what he chose. I would like to know more about him.

He said to a friend he would never come out to his parents which lead me to believe they hate gays. I am on a facebook page that everyone writes messages on. The sad thing is some guy wrote he was just a fag and he was glad he was dead. That broke my heart. The guy even came back and wrote more about how glad he was. So sad people can be like that.

I'm sure the parents will be able to read postings on Facebook and other similar tributes if they want to. My advice would be to post on one of those sites instead of sending a letter, which may be unwelcome and cause them more pain. I know that wouldn't be your intent, but it could be the result. Even if the parents don't read the tributes, I'm sure they know about the outpouring of support.

I have seen three facebook pages dedicated to Tyler Clementi. One of those pages stated that the posts were strictly moderated there to weed out inappropriate or disrespectful comments. Another was an open page welcoming anyone who wanted to say anything at all, good or bad, with no moderation.

you should write out the letter to his parents. and place it in your desk drawer, and wait until the trial is over and try and find a place to send it. you should write it now that the emotions are raw. i think it would be good for the parents and for yourself. good luck.

I don't really think the parents are interested. This is more for you then them. I would just post something on a facebook page like I stated above.
