Uefa Euro 2008

¡¡Que viva la Furia Roja!!

Finally! The jinx is broken! (!)

Germany played a very good, tough game. They should be proud of their performance. :=D:

Corny, you are welcome to join the party. Come on, celebrate with us. (*8*)
greaves is buying... Estrella Damms all around! Thank you, mr. greaves!

And now 44 millones de españoles are ready to party in the streets!

Shall we join them?

When Spaniards get together in festivals or celebrations, you will almost always hear a charanga (small band) playing "Paquito el Chocolatero," the song with more live performances than any other in Spain.

Oh, and it's by a Spaniard. ;)

lol, thanks for the invitation. actually i am suprised how many spanish people are living in this town. suddenly they are coming out of their hiding-places ;) but everything has been very friendly - but what ill-temper should we have. spain won, and deserved so. germany had some strong moments, but overall was way to weak. personally i was very bothered on how often they lost the ball in the middle - we have seen them doing better there. but as i said, i don't see it as a shame to lose against this team.
i'd love to see the party in spain now :) especially since the spanish have way hotter fans :D there were some real hotties on tv hehe

Hi sentientoak!

Wish I was there, too!

Are you near Villa de Vallecas or Vicálvaro? I think there are a lot of Valencianos there, and you know how they love fireworks!

And David Villa and Fàbregas are mine!

Jeje,

sentientoak, me and Jakey are some greedy bastards aren't we :p

Can you tell me which TV channel airs the celebrations right now and that footage from the changing room? i tired TVE but it airs some movie right now

I am down in Aluche and have little ability to guess where Spanish people come from anyway, so who knows... I think around here they are more into just honking and shouting.

Bah! The whole team is taken! Oh well, more one-handed fantasizing...
Aluche. hmmmm....

I'm guessing there is no internet access in Carabanchel, so....

Was that Sergio Ramos wearing a shirt of Antonio Puerta? I think I saw it in a split second...

That was touching!
Yes, Ramos was wearing a shirt with a picture. I'm sure it's a picture of Puerta.

greaves was kidnapped ;) last nite, after the EURO 2008 final, by David from Colombia (who cleans my apartment ), and Eduardo from Mexico DF.

Both estudiantes here in London. If their parents knew they are lovers...

Not sure where we went, but the Estrella Damm was flowing!

Anyway, greaves did get to work today. Hence this late response to Spain's wonderful win.

No doubt the best side in the tournament won: :=D::=D::=D:

But greaves was NOT impressed by the German team's very negative attitude post match. They were surly, sulking and almost insulting in there response to being beaten by a far better side. Ballack, in particular, came across as VERY poor loser. And he is the captain.

Germany - and Italy - seem to think they have some divine right to win every major tournament they play in.

Perhaps now they are beginning - only beginning mind you - to realise there are many other better national/club teams in Europe.

BTW. greaves winnings from his bet on Spain were all drunk last nite! Dam Estrella! ;)

Glad you made it back, greaves!

I'm sure you struggled valiantly to escape those kidnappers. Did you have to give them something for ransom? ;)

Yes, the best side won!

Not only did they win every game, they also overcame their self-made psychological barriers to victory... the "jinxes" of Italy, the June 22 date, the yellow shirt, etc.

And now to bask in the glory.

An Italian song, played "Flamenco" style by the French-Spanish-Roma Gipsy Kings:

Gracias, sentientoak por los enlaces.

I'm still "high" on Spain's win. :D Y me imagino que la afición también está.

Germany looked terrible on the offensive... Congrats Spain...
Klose, Podolski, and an injured Ballack looked off the whole game... Schweinsteiger looked like the only one that was on his game
And weird that Lahm gave up the goal defensivley... His strike in the Semi's could only last so long I suppose
