NOVEMBER 3RD
Ana Ortiz is my favorite character, she did awesome in the first episode of season 2.
I agree that the witers need to get a little more bold. Soap operas are supposed to have big plot changes and twists and turns, Ugly Betty has minimal drama but it always works itself out. Nobody dies, nothing changes, everything is routine. They also need to take more advantage of having NY as a backdrop now.
However, I don't think the show is as bad as some people are saying. Ugly Betty is one of the few shows that actually challenged society and breaks away from conformity, some of the issues they talk about on the show do NOT get attention anywhere else, like immigration, troubles with healthcare coverage, homosexuality, superficiality, racism, paternity (Amanda's search for her father), etc... Lots of people pretend those things away but Ugly Betty faces them head on.
I agree completely. While the show may not seem as attention-grabbing as it was before, it's still a great show. It still manages to keep me wanting more week to week, and that says something cause I get bored and sidetracked easily. But, I never miss an episode and usually always enjoy it.
