So let me get this right, they don't mind the body scanners photographing their penis but they won't sit next to a woman.

What if they get frisked by a woman TSA officer?

I don't know about other countries, but here in the US they wouldn't have a woman frisking men..... That would border too much on sexual harassment. That's why they also don't have men frisk women.

The delay was not due to the passengers but how the airline decided to handle the requests. They always had the option of letting the guys off and making them wait for an accommodating flight.

This still happens now, im sure. Its a part of their religious beliefs, which whether they be ridiculous or not should be respected. That being said, they should give notice ahead of time if they feel uncomfortable sitting next to a woman. It is something that they should be thinking about ahead of time considering that there is a good chance a woman will be sitting next to you.

Pretty much. If there are some accommodations one requires you would think they would notify the airline people ahead of time in order to not cause disruption.

We have a long running thread here about funny religious humor with lots of cartoons and pictures. It is mostly aimed at offending Christians, Jews and non-muslims. Do you really believe the thread would have lasted as long as it has if it had been primarily about Mohamed, Allah, Islam or muslims in general? There are just some groups people won't risk insulting. I'm sure the mods would have closed that kind of thread down after the first page.

For people to 'get' the joke, they have to have at least some background 'knowledge' of the subject. Most people on the Internet do have some exposure to the C/J folklore and superstitions – Muslim stuff, well, not so much.

Then, there is the 'copy/paste' issue. Most of what is posted in that thread has been around for a long time, so there is loads of the stuff available all over the net ready to satisfy the needs of the average copy-paster.

So, the thread isn't 'cutting edge', but it does, sometimes, seem to be getting up to speed. Stay tuned.

Yes it is...... But not in the way you think....

Human rights, like the equality of women, must be respected.

This has nothing to do with the equality of women...... What it deals with is the ideology that a man and woman who are not married should not be in physical contact, it does not denigrate either sex. The way it was enacted was overboard..... But think about it this way.... If more unmarried male/female couples followed the basic ideal there would be fewer children born out of wedlock. This means, in all likelihood, fewer single parent homes as many of those are unwed mothers/fathers. Eliminate much of that and you cut down greatly on the need for welfare as the amount of single parent homes diminishes. A single parent trying to work and take care of kid(s) isn't always able to earn enough money to pay all the bills, and the ones who are unwed are more likely to have more than one baby daddy/mama, with more kids and less of an education. The lower the education the less likelihood of earning a living wage..... That it has been convoluted into a fear of any form of physical contact is sad, but that's the issue with zealots of ANY religion, whether they be ultra orthodox Jews, militant Muslims, or Bible thumping Christians. At least these guys weren't trying to force others to live by their beliefs without living by them themselves. All they wanted was to be bale to sit in seats that would keep them from risking physical contact for fear it could lead themselves toward the sin of even deeper contact out of marriage.... They did nothing to negate the rights of any of the women, just asked them to move seats, some likely more vehemently than others.

So yes, your insistence that they were trampling the rights of others is quite a ridiculous statement.

They should respect other people as well. They should not demand that others move to accomodate this practice nor should they insult the woman by refusing to sit next to her. Standing next to a person through the trip also seems rude and an invasion of privacy.
