Wow. I take great offense to this. No one even comes close to being as bad as Hitler. Bigotry isn't mere name-calling. It's a clear pattern in Telly's anti-religion posts. It's as plain as any other form of hate speech. It's more than appropriate to call him out on it just as surely as we do Benvolio for his own brand of bigotry.

Well, ancient Egypt, ancient Greece and ancient Rome where very gay-friendly. At least until Rome started tolerating a certain homophobic monotheistic cult.

Likewise, many parts of Africa and the Americas were not homophobic until muzzies and chrissies converted them to their franchise of monotheism.

To the contrary, each culture had a segregated status for gay men. They were by no means equals. There was a level of acceptance of homosexual behavior that was limited to a transitional thing or sometimes a sort of down-low thing.

We have examples of men of wealth and power sometimes surviving what a commoner could not, and that occurred in various countries, but NO social models of the broad cultural acceptance of gay men as equals in society. King, emperor, and dictators also got by with literal murder. Their preferences were often not subject to what their citizens had to obey.

What parts of Africa had indigenous cultures that recognized homosexuals as equals? Who? Where is the link to document this?

Where is the record of ancient Babylon, Persia, India, China, Egypt, or others having a place in society for gay men? And I don't mean as some sexual surrogate who was for all purposes the equal of a concubine or slave boy.

Most pars cultures did not recognize the existence of gays in the sense of being attracted to men and not women. It was assumed that all men are attracted to women but for some unknown reason some choose to have sex with man. Many continue to believe that, believing that some choose to have sex with men.
