Unable to clear my bowel completedly

Re: Question about pooping

...Maybe you can try with disposible gloves..

You should use strong rubber gloves which you wash with soap and water just like normal people wash their hands.

Single-use disposible gloves are bad ecologically.

Re: Question about pooping

There is a wonderful invention called soap.
It comes in regular and antibacterial styles.
When you use the bathroom, you should be thoroughly washing your hands when you are done.

You can even wash your your private parts with soap and water following a bathroom visit!
In some parts of the world, there is an invention called a bidet, which is wonderful for that!

Re: Question about pooping

Thanks for all the advices.

I actually use toilet paper to wipe my ass after pooping since young. But occassionally, I will use water to clean my ass after pooping.

It wasn't until in my 20s, I have haemorrhoids, that I decide to fully switch to washing my ass after pooping. And there's no turning back.

I still use toilet paper when using public toilets.

But because all these years, I have become so used to and comfortable using water to clean my ass after pooping, suddenly it becomes that I am not used to and not very comfortable using toilet paper anymore.

And,normally, I need to poo after I wake up early in the morning. So I just schedule my shower time after I poo.

So if you wipe your ass with toilet paper, what if bits, pieces, crumbs of feces fall and land onto your underwear, pants and onto the floor?

After you leave the public toilet after wiping your ass with toilet paper, is it safe and clean to touch your pants ?? If you place any objects like mobile phone, books, papers on your pants, will the mobile phone, books, paper become dirty with feces germs/bacteria??

Re: Question about pooping

OP, I've found that the various OCDs in life really impede our progress in life. Over the years I have gotten over several fears and OCDs after I weighed the pros and cons of keeping them around versus forcing myself to change.

I know it is not easy.

For example, I used to have a fear of anal sex. After having it several times, I stopped completely and had other forms of gay sex for years. Then I met my husband and I started having it again. Wasn't easy, but the reward far outweighed confronting my fears.

Maybe it would help if you just remember that any germs or bacteria in your faeces were already in you. It isn't like you are somehow transmitting something you don't already have.

The caution is to make sure that you don't transmit any bacteria to your eyes...which really don't like what lives in your gut.

And to avoid picking up someone else's germs or bacteria. So just wash your hands.

Re: Question about pooping

Those bacteria and germs are going to be all around you, on everything. There's a mental picture we have been sold that germs are this one blob waiting to get us. Chances are, your toilet probably has fewer germs than the sink counter. And just because there are germs and bacteria, does not mean they are going to attach to you and cause you harm. You are capable of dealing with very, very many of them. You wipe yourself off and clean your hands because you are trying to reduce large concentrations of them. And even if you do come into contact, it's about reducing the risk of you actually picking something bad up from them.

So you need to make a mental switch. Instead of thinking of bacteria as all bad and all out to give you something, think of them as just existing everywhere, kind of like people. There are a few bad ones out there, and you a want to try and avoid them. So you try to avoid going to places where large amounts of them concentrate. And just because you might encounter a few bacteria, or people, doesn't mean they will all bring you harm. And even if you get near a bad one, doesn't men it will immediate cause you harm, it is just the potential fr there if you are not careful.

Re: Unable to clear my bowels completely Help I'm scared

Hi. Sorry for my late reply.

I went for rubber band ligation to get rid of 3 piles this week.

But after the rubber band ligation, I still cannot empty my bowel fully.

And I strain again. And there is blood dripping from my rectum.

The doctor said that piles do not cause constipation. But rather constipation cause piles.

Right now, I am feeling very sad and depressed. I still cannot fully empty my bowel every day.

Hi. Sorry for my earlier posts.

I made a mistake.

Sorry. I get confused with polyps and piles and thought they are the same .

I don't have polyps. But I have piles.

My previous colonscopies, the doctor did not find any polyps.

But during physical examination, the doctor find out that I have some small piles in my
rectum.

I went for rubber band ligation this week to get rid of 3 small piles in my rectum.

But right now, I still cannot clear my bowel fully. And this morning while clearing my bowel, I strain again and there is a little bit of blood dripping from my anus after I strain.

Your should address any post-procedure issues with your doctor. If the bleeding does not stop and you are unable to get in touch with your doctor because it is the weekend, then you should consider going to an emergency clinic and have it checked.

Thank you for your advices.

I have some bleeding the day after my rubber band ligation. But the bleeding has since stopped.

The drop of blood dripping from my anus is probably from me straining this morning.

I have colonscopy in 2004, 2006, 2009 and 2017.

The results were all normal.

Then I have attempt to have colonscopy in 2014 and 2019. But I could not finish the bowel prep solution and end up vomiting .

Now looking back, I regret doing so many colonscopy.

I am very scared and worried that now, I am suffering from the long term side effects of drinking the bowel preparation soution from doing so many colonscopy.

I am worried that drinkig the bowel prearation solution from all those colonscopy has damage and ruin my intestine/colon and that my colon has lost its function to expel stool from my body.

I think drinking all those bowel prep solution may have weaken my colon's muscle and this is why I have trouble clearing my bowel fully.

Is it true?

Does drinking a lot of bowel prep soution from many colonscopy cause you to suffer from long term side effects such as...unable to clear and empty your bowel fully, constipation?

Your doctor should make that determination since he is the most familiar with what was done.

These are questions that are best addressed by your physician since he is the most familiar with your medical history.

Thank you for your advices.

But can you answer my medical questions if you have medical knowledge?

This is for those who have done many colonscopy in the past and present.

Are you able to clear your bowel fully? Do you suffer from constipation?

I don't have any medical training so all I can do is tell you some of my experiences. I have had three colonoscopies, but they were several years apart. The last one I felt that I didn't clear my colon as well as the other two but everything was normal anyway. I did have trouble having bowel movements every day in the past and they were dry and hard. My doctor told me to take MiraLax every day and I have and I usually now have bowel movements every day and they are soft. Sometimes, especially if I miss a day, then I have three bowel movements in one day and the final one is mostly liquid and very urgent. I have been lucky so far that I have been able to access a bathroom quickly whenever I have had an urgent bowel movement so far. It doesn't sound like I have the same problem that you are having.

Thanks for the reply.

When you said that you have trouble having bowel movement every day in the past , was that before your very first colonoscopy ?

Or after having three colonoscopy, you begin to have trouble having bowel movement every day until your doctor recommend you to take MiraLax?

So now, you need to depend on MiraLax to have successful bowel movement every day?

Without MiraLax, you won't be able to clear your bowel successfully?

Normally you have 1 bowel movement each day? But sometimes, you have three bowel movement per day?

Did your doctor said that you may have irrritable bowel syndrome?

I haven't had regular bowel movements every day probably for at least twenty or more years and it could have been fifty or more years. Bowel movements three times a week instead of seven times a week weren't unusual. My first colonoscopy was probably twenty or more years ago. (I am 74 yrs old now.) I don't think that the colonoscopy had any effect on my bowel movements, but probably stress and other things did have an affect on it. The doctor did say that I wasn't drinking enough water and taking MiraLax requires water so that helps that situation. I don't remember if the doctor said that I have irritable bowel syndrome or not, but I may have told him that and I believe that I do at times have irritable bowel syndrome.

Thank you so much for your reply.

So your bowel movement is like what?

Mostly everyday? Or 3 times a week?

If it is everyday, how many times each day?

And how is your weight? Do you lost any weight? Any major weight loss? How much do you weight?

I am scared and worried that doing a lot of colonoscopy caused me to have irritable bowel syndrome.

I think drinking the bowel prep solution many times or having the camera scope inside my large intestine mess up the gut flora and healthy bacteria in my intestine which caused me to have constipation/ unable to clear my bowel fully now.

I'm scared, worrried and very depressed but there seems to be nothing that I can do now.
