"Unbecoming" Interview Blows Up On Prince Andrew of Great Britain

I saw a headline this AM from the duchess's rep blaming it on his personal secretary, saying that the "buck stops with her", as if he were too stupid to be trusted to make his own decisions.

Any port in a storm.

If the duchess concerned was the Duchess of York, then all I'll say is that her calling her former husband stupid is a prime example of the pot calling the kettle black.

It was the Duchess of York's personal secretary saying the buck stops with the Duke's personal secretary. No doubt the secretary knows that neither the Duke nor the Duchess are smart enough to be trusted with decisions of even moderate importance.

Now the Palace just has to find the perfect Caribbean island to exile him to....

I understand this one is available.....

I don't live over there but no one here really knows or cares about him or his duties--so when this story broke if he had quietly just shut up and disappeared seems like a better strategy ---not like criminal charges were being brought against him.

Well, as a Canadian, Queen Elizabeth II is our monarch and head of state. We care very much about her and the shenanigans of the Royals.

I agree that if he had just shut the fuck up....or had expressed profound regret over his 'acquaintanceship' with Epstein blah blah blah...there might have been a chance. I know a couple of people who went to school with him at Lakefield though....and they always thought he was as thick as cheese, oversexed and over-privileged.

As I noted. The island is probably open.

If the prince had been of the cloth of which his mother was cut, he would have, at the point he could not avoid commenting, stated how much it pained him to learn his long time friend had been found guilty of such unthinkable acts, and even more, to consider how he himself must have been remiss in not realizing the problem before him.

And, tack on how deeply concerned he is for all affected and never answer again.

But, he isn't his mother. He's the dullard. The realm should thank their stars he isn't in line to ascend.

^ You are skipping the fact that the whole affair is about sex, and about the predatory male side of it: you put the queen's usual hypocritical and dull template over such a racy and dark affair as Epstein's, and in a powerful male's mouth, and the car crash would have been considered an even more outrageous train wreck.

If the prince had been of the cloth of which his mother was cut,
Years ago I read that Andrew isn't cut from the same cloth as his father. Google Lord Porchester. Even the show, 'The Crown' had eluded to an affair.
