In all the years I've been in JUB I've never met a single JUBBER on purpose or by accident. I'm sure I've probably been in clubs etc with them but Aussie JUBBERs must be shy one of these days I'll organise a successful Aussie JUB meet.

I would expect a JUB meet if I ever make it to the US Kev. Before the GFC hit I had flights booked to go to the Vegas meet a few years ago, then the world economy crashed in a heap and it was all about keeping a roof over my head. Who knows, I may make it there one day.

I enjoy the instructor position.It can be a bit nerve wracking driving with someone who has never driven a semi before,but it's nice to be able to use my years of experience as a trucker to teach the newbies learn the ropes..

You obviously are not teaching new Landstar drivers. Last one took 45 minutes to get into my dock, the time before we actually put the girl into tears.

And I know WHY Swerve avoids Colorado, still hoping for a wrong turn soon!

I've been thinking I should get my commercial license so I could take turns with Swerve someday for kicks.

As long as he drives in the cities -- those can set off my anxiety disorder when I'm in my familiar Dodge!

When I drove over the road,as a rule I was always cautious around any of the training companies.Werner,C.R.England,Swift, U.S. Express, etc...You just never knew what to expect out of them and I've seen them do some incredibly dangerous things at 65 MPH..

Landstar, though, is supposed to be one of the good companies.I used to know a husband and wife team that drove for them who made a fortune hauling A & E (anmmunition and explosives) during the height of the Iraq war..As I understood it,they are a 100 % owner operator company...Usually by the time someone buys their own equipment, you'd figure they know how to back the truck up..

I'm not saying Phoenix or Arizona is heaven. SLC isn't too bad, but still. Mormons are some of the fakest people. .

I'd be more worried about being felt up by that crazed sheriff you guys have there.You know the guy that's being investigated by the Federal Government for racial profiling..

OK, I KNOW it is isn't the easiest dock to get into. It is on a funny angle to the building off a curved 'street' (which is technically not a street, it is a 'road through a parking lot that doesn't exist anymore' but it is what it is). There USED to be a parking lot to turn around that was NEVER even used until they built a four story apartment complex in it instead...

A few months ago I had a husband/wife team and they were incredible. Their GPS had them come in backwards, so instead of blind side backing in, wife got out and stopped traffic, the dude made an amazing U Turn (with a huge, huge cab, must have been one of those two bedroom OTR jobs), then backed in taking less than 5 minutes for the whole affair.

The guy who couldn't back in eventually had the Polizia stopping traffic. (My Bunzl lady, however, is funny. She doesn't care about the traffic, she just backs in and tells me that if the cars don't stop, it isn't her problem!: )

I guess Landstar gets both good and not so hot newbies.
