What? Me? Really?
^^ He looks like a Kennedy, but tanned.
I voted first thing. The turnout looked like Republicans were in the minority at that time, but it was probably due to working folk having to vote before work.
This is a heavily Republican area: about half the positions on the ballot were unopposed Republicans.
We had five constitutional amendments on the ballot with one opposing abortion, one supporting religion, and one trying to preserve the gerrymandering. Such a demoralizing state to vote in.
As for Congress, the House has the power of the purse, and the Senate has the, er, uh, power. It is useless for the house to pass referenda that have not built a coalition in the Senate, as it isn't meaningful if they haven't.
Because I couldn't affect Alabama's Democratic success, I donated to Martin Heinrich and Michelle Lujan Grisham in New Mexico, as both have served honorably.
