Which is why we don't watch any television news anymore and only read print journalism from about 12 sources from around the work that don't rely on sensationalist clickbait headlines or whackhead editorial and op ed sensationalism. My life is now too short for anything but real facts.

the whole 'if it bleeds, it leads' approach ended with us in 2004....when we switched over to only watching BBC international news during the Iraq war.

The only purpose of media now is to keep all of us in a constant state of anxiety and it is really easy to do with hot media (including television, sorry McLuhan), that eventually you realize that almost all of it is just about selling soap.



Except for all the clickbait memes etc. that I can't resist.

As though you would have ever read any of them? Because you only watch youtube videos.

But would start an argument about how they are all fake news?

Sorry Telly, can't be bothered to engage in an unproductive side argument with you on this.

Let's just say that they cover a broad perspective of current events and include European, South American, Indian and other Asian, African and Middle Eastern sources as well as US and Canadian private press information.
At the time, I don't include any Australian sources because Reuters will cover anything of note and none of the Australian media meet the test.

They are selected for the proven historical overall accuracy of their reporting.

But, I think there would be benefit in letting us know who these twelve proven overall historically accurate sources are.
 
Maybe in another thread about journalism...for now...it would be just casting pearls and is irrelevant to the thread.

Likely just rhetoric to soothe the fragile Americans who have somehow lost sight of the fact that suicide bombers are a fact of life in Afghanistan and that sometimes military personnel are killed in the line of duty.

I suspect that it won't be any different than the targeted drone strikes on America's enemies that aren't even publicized in the US anymore. It certainly won't be about troops.

Of course the Taliban are now realizing that the flood of refugees out of Afghanistan will include the brightest and best as educated men and women flee the rural, knuckle dragging religious fundamentalists.

Somehow I doubt that solidly built, simple, excellent quality cabinetry is in the Taliban's skill set.
