^ This is all too true. Which is why we don't watch any television news anymore and only read print journalism from about 12 sources from around the work that don't rely on sensationalist clickbait headlines or whackhead editorial and op ed sensationalism. My life is now too short for anything but real facts.
the whole 'if it bleeds, it leads' approach ended with us in 2004....when we switched over to only watching BBC international news during the Iraq war.
The only purpose of media now is to keep all of us in a constant state of anxiety and it is really easy to do with hot media (including television, sorry McLuhan), that eventually you realize that almost all of it is just about selling soap.
Except for all the clickbait memes etc. that I can't resist.
