US Withdrawal from Afghanistan

The published reports from China were exactly for that reason. They are conveying that as the super-power, they are lecturing the US on what must happen and making it clear that China is the stronger party.

Who knows, maybe they are right.

Now let's see how China deals with the Taliban, because it is their turn.

From the news, is the US simply left the country destroyed without helping Afghanistan?
Helping afew refugees doesn't count. We'll see what the US do next.

Quoted for truth. I don't even know where to start except to say that once again the road to Hell is paved with lofty intentions.

come on, you know the history of the CIA NED, they normally help the oppositions in many many countries.
We'll see.

I doubt you know anything about the history of the CIA, they help the [sic]oppositions? to what? In what countries? If all you're going to do is push some commie agitprop at me off of Youtube (guess who makes the cash off of Youtube) don't bother - I never do.

I have no idea what the Netherlands have to do with anything either.

...or are you trying to say the CIA IN the Netherlands?

NED is not netherlands. National Endowment for democracy.
Americans have to ask, where did the trillions of dollars went?
These trillions are for poverty, homelessness and health care and infrastructure.

Well this may be hard to understand, but a good portion of those trillions went to the arms industry in the US...which employs A LOT of Americans in many states...so the money wasn't ever in Afghanistan.

But the US did build a lot of infrastructure in Afghanistan, including roads, bridges, schools and clinics. There's a great story though about how one warlord had a bridge constructed in his area, but had a brother who was with the Taliban who would then arrange for the bridge to be blown up and then it would have to be re-built again....with the Warlord getting a cut each time.

Now the Taliban will have to rely primarily on heroin for their economy because I don't see anyone rushing to invest there and a male dominated economy with an uneducated population tends to result in poverty for most.

Does the US still want to ''sanctions'' Afghanistan or is sanctioning Afghanistan??

Why don't you tell your story, no one is going to watch that.

I considered him an expert Vs the main stream media.
I'm no expert but i agreed with him over the main stream media. The main media with all their money and power cannot brainwash me over this expert.

No one care what you "consider" and expert. The Chinese beat the media to it.

Plus you're avoiding explaining what the hell you were pushing in the first place.

I'm not sure where to post this because this is not political. But, has anyone noticed how hot some of the young Afghan men are? OMG! Some of them are stunning. Not just hot looking faces with deep set smoldering eyes, but also very well built. I've had some daydreaming about them I can tell you that much.

So everyone on Youtube that tells you what you want to hear is an expert. Got it.

US freeze money from Afghanistan will starve many Afghans to death. The main stream media keep quiet.

Nonsense.

The purpose of freezing assets is to actually protect the people of Afghanistan. Particularly women.

There is no recognized Talibani Government. There is no sound economic or financial structure...just a lot of guys with turbans and guns. Releasing money to these warlords would just result in the looting of the treasury.

The real issue is going to be that the IMF, World Bank and other western aid organizations will stop sending aid because of the Talibani treatment of women, lgbtq etc.

For 20 years, Afghanistan has been one of the most aid dependent countries in the world. It is a sure bet that most of the assets held in the US are actually from aid.

The Taliban wanted to rule the country. Well, now they can.

And I guess they'll just have to turn to Pakistan, Russia and China...or their Middle Eastern brethren to throw their money at them.

But you freeze their money ...

The US froze about $9.5 billion in Afghanistan’s assets, including US Treasury securities that are held within the United States and a large volume of gold that is stored at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The assets were frozen because the Taliban remains on the Treasury Department’s sanctions designation list.

Other than its considerable natural resources, the vast majority of Afghanistan’s assets are currently held in other countries. The Taliban is not yet recognized as the official government of Afghanistan. They are therefore not entitled to that country's wealth.

From my simple mind and for emergency use of the assets (for daily functions), its all red tapes to me .... creating obstacles for Afghanistan to start normal life.

Define "normal," the biggest obstacle for the people of Afghanistan is the Taliban who are not the owners of anything.

Cannot get money out from your bank is not normal. No wonder some countries are planning to dump US dollars.
They will dump slowly slowly spread out to many years to avoid chaos.
