This week seems to have really flown by as has this whole month. I wonder if it has been like that for just me or for everyone out there?

Today it was nice and chilly waking up under my goose down comforter. I really really really had to pee very badly but I just didn't want to get out from my warm cocoon. It was such a dilemma because I really had to pee and it was like hurting. I waited as long as possible and then what the hell I got up and peed and it felt so good draining my bladder.

Since I was up and it was 6AM I just got up anyway and read my devotions and my one page a day Dilbert Calendar and then took my shower and shaved and flossed my teeth and I was ready to hit the day running.

My dog was ready to eat and to play a little and what he really wanted was his morning treats before I left the house.

I drove down to the general store for my Sunday Morning paper and then to the kitchen for my cup of coffee and now here I am sitting in my chair, drinking my coffee writing my blog entry for the day.

Yesterday was a good one actually. It drizzled in the morning but I went out with my trusty weed eater anyway and got my pants, socks and shoes soaking wet. My toes were cold but it was nice anyway and I just felt at peace as those little red strands of plastic whirled around and around and cut the grass and weeds down like they were nothing.

So I hope you day is a good one.
Church for me in about an hour or so.

Peace to all

So why you might ask am here at work. Because no one is around today and I get work on my story and 3 projects that I have to finish with no interruptions. Put the phones on silence and go at it!

Yesterday I did something stupid. At least stupid for me. You will probably think me stupid for even mentioning it but hey its my blog right so i can say what I want. ROTFL

I love movies and I decided to go to a movie yesterday on a holiday weekend in the afternoon on a gray overcast Sunday. How stupid was that. I like my movie theatres free and clear of any other humans but yesterday when I drove up the parking lot was jammed packed and people were circling around and the whole entire lot next door was full and there was a line out the door.

So what did I do you may ask????

I went to the coffee shop and had a skinny latte and went grocery shopping and went home!

So anyway hope your day is a good one

peace to all

Wow the entire valley was filled with a dense fog this AM when I woke up. Fog obscured the view of the entire place and you could see noting at all.

It was kind of spooky but cool as I lay in bed watching and waiting.

The longer I waited the more I could see as the fog slowly lifted and bushes and trees became visible in the fog. Like a mystery movie set in Scotland or something. Spooky.

I learned a new shorthand word for e-mail this past week.

ROTFL - rolling on the floor laughing

I like it. Hope you do to. Spread it around.

Hope your weekend was good and your holiday yesterday was good.

peace to you this week and always my friends

We need the rain so its good and it gives me a chance to say "Fuck It" to all outside work and just stay inside and work on my story or maybe even do some work! ROTFL!

I got my cup of coffee and my computer and a list of things I can do or not do as I see fit today. I will of course due to my very nature complete everything on the list and probably a few things that were never there in the first place.

Hope you have a good day today and always.
peace brothers and sisters

Are you tired of all my weather reports every day? Well it's what it is and what I see when I wake up and it is all around me. The weather makes our days here in the mountains so I do report on it. Sorry if it bores some but hey it is what it is.

It rained all night long. A nice gentle rain that is perfect for gardens and grass and hay. Our hay is really growing now and we will start to make it in about 2 weeks if the weather turns a bit. You need at least one full week of hot dry weather to make good hay so lets hope we get some. Farmers are always hoping for weather aren't they.

We are trying to figure out a way to convince our neighbors cows to come into our pasture and stay to eat our grass. They just don't seem to want to stay in the unfamiliar pasture. We may try leaving a salt block in the pasture near the spring and see if that will help convince them that our grass really is greener on our side of the fence!

Hope your day is a good one.
peace

Yes folks it is Friday again. Amazing how that happens each and every week isn't it! LOL.

Rainy day again so that means I get to work on my story some more. HOOOORAY!

I might go into town for some errands later but I don't have a schedule.

Well the cows came into our pasture for about 30 minutes and then they were out again. maybe it has bad vibes for them or something. It is quite freaky and our old farmer neighbor can't quite figure it all out.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Love each other and love yourselves!

peace

Saturday morning very early. I woke up at 5:30 AM to hear the birds outside my door chirping. This one kept repeating the same phrase over and over again. I am not sure I have ever heard a bird go that long on the same phrase. It was awesome.

I really got a lot done on my story yesterday and that was fun and exciting to see the new places it goes all on its own.

I heard from a fellow JUB'er who is travelling in England this week. I was so touched that he would take the time out of his busy vacation schedule to write to me. That really made me feel good.

I also heard from a friend who is moving and has had a very rough time of it. Thnaks for taking the time to let me know how things were going even if it was not what you wanted or expected.

Then another friend who has been like relaly crazy busy at school and work took his time to let me know he was still there. just busy.

Sometimes with cyber friends it is hard to tell where they are or what they are up to. On day they are here and then the next day they aren't. We wonder where are they? What are they doing? etc.

Gives us a lesson in keeping in touch with those we love! or like! or just correspond with!

We had some nice sun yesterday afternoon but mostly it was a gray drizzle filled day. off and on showers.

Today looks to be the same but it is always hard to tell in the mountains. Anything could happen.

So what are you doing today? Sleeping in? Working in the yard? Visiting friends or relatives? I hope whatever you do it is good.

peace to all

Its early Sunday morning. I have been to get my paper and now I have my cup of coffee and logged onto JUB and doing my morning ritual of writing in my blog.

I wonder sometimes why i do this everyday. because it is soothing and a ritual. Rituals are usually good and soothing i guess.

Does anyone read this? Does anyone care about my country boy life out here in the mountains?

It was very foggy out this morning and I had to turn on my lights when I drove to the store to get the paper. The store is not open at this hour but the paper rack outside has the Sunday paper which has the Sunday Comics!!

Does anyone else hate WEEDS! Where the hell do they keep coming from. No matter what you do they are back with a vengeance. Damn what is their purpose in life. To make mine miserable.

I HATE WEEDS!

peace to all even you weed haters like me!

OK OK I know that guys are reading my blog everyday. I guess I was just wondering yesterday why there were so few comments on what I had written.

I have two very huge meetings today so I worked yesterday to get prepared for them and now am in the office doing what you might ask? And well you should. I am Drinking coffee and writing in my blog! ROTFL and checking my threads.

Seriously though I think I am ready for the meetings although one can never really tell can one? Interesting dilemma.

Well after this week all danger of a frost is gone and the old timers say after Wednesday we can plant tomatoes and peppers etc. I would be just my luck if I went ahead and did it today we would have a frost tomorrow but it just doesn't look like it but hey what do I know.

I saw this guy at church yesterday. I didn't know him. Had never seen him before and he had the hottest Adam's Apple. I could keep my eyes off of it you know how that is. Something gets your attention and its like a scab you keep picking it. He was by himself as far as I could tell.

His was really well pronounced and bobbed up and down. It was huge and his neck was long. Of course he also had these wonderful large doe eyes that I think were brown or maybe black it was hard to tell from where I was sitting.

I saw him smile a few times but not at me unfortunately. I tired to catch up with him to welcome to church after the service but he was gone. SHIT!

Of course in reality who was I fooling. I might had shaken hands and said hello and then I would have been a dork and just stood there looking goofy.

Oh well have fun today and always and do something silly.

peace to you all

All my work related stuff really went very well yesterday. I got the information I needed and gave the information needed to others so that was good. Now I just have to act on that information in a positive way.

LOL the only thing wrong with yesterday is that I did not get one minute to spend writing in my story. That is a first for the past few weeks but it is probably good to take a break every once in awhile!

Today I have a big lecture to give to a group so I am trying to get prepared for that.

Now of course I have my cup of coffee and my computer and my blog.

Fog in the valley this AM so that means we will have another hot day I guess. I need to get the rest of my stuff in the ground. The lettuce is coming up. The nasturtiums are coming up.

Oh yes I almost forgot. I needed to buy a new battery for my truck yesterday and I went into the auto supply store. I always feel like a fish out of water in those kinds of places because I know nothing about engines or trucks or that kind of shit. I was standing in line and this cute very hunky guy is standing there next to me. He has these great arm muscles with one distinct blue vein running down the top. The muscles stretched the fabric of his polo shirt. He had this cute face with this cute brown hair combed down over his forehead. His underwear was obviously showing as all underwear is these days and at one point he hicked it up giving me a view of his wonderful soft tanned skin. Just a brief view but enough to get my juices flowing. he was probably around 19 or 20. Then he bought his stuff and was gone out of my life forever. Oh well. Such is the stuff of jack off sessions! ROTFL!

Then it was my turn and the guy behind the counter asked me what year my truck was. I knew that information and then he asked me what size engine I had and I just stared at him with a blank look on my face. Was he talking about my dick size? I thought not but had no idea. he looked at me with this look that said. STUPID. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS GUY. SELL HIM AN EXPENSIVE BATTERY!!

So I better get cracking folks.

Hope your day is good.

peace to all

Here I am bright and early feeling great after a night of sleep with my cup of coffee and my computer. I am set for the day. Meetings today as well. Lots to do. I even get to go to town and do some shopping as I have some friends coming over tomorrow night and I need to get some supplies!

I planted, beans, green and yellow peppers, and tomatoes yesterday and it rained last night! Hooray!

I went to see the new and the last Star Wars movie yesterday. It was good. A bit long and a bit to many light saber battles and the script leaves something to be desired but haven't they all. Glad I saw it. Great special effects and now I have seen them all. What a history.

One very hot scene with Hayden Christensen in the bed and he is naked from the waist up. He is one hot dude! I love his Adam's Apple. What causes some guys to have them and others not? Shit guys with them are hot. His voice is a bit whinny for me but hey his body makes up for it. Looks like he is working out. Wish I could be his work out partner. ROTFL. He would shit his pants if I showed up to be his work out partner!

My big lecture went really really well yesterday!

Love to you all.
peace

Sun is shining and it is Thursday here in my little part of the world.

Wow we had a belly washer yesterday afternoon here. It poured. It rained. It poured really hard for about 1 hour and then it quit and the sun came out. I thought we might have a rainbow so I went outside to look but couldn't see one anywhere.

Good for our gardens but a rain that hard beats down the hay which is really tall right now. Looks like we may get a great stand this summer if all goes well. Probably cut it in another two weeks. Then I can bore you with lots of making hay stories. ! LOL! Hope you are ready.

peace be with you my friends

Its Friday morning. I couldn't sleep. I was restless and tossing and turning in bed. I couldn't get comfortable with my hip so I decided to just get the hell up and out of bed and ready for the day.

Last night was a strange and wonderful night.

I had some friends over and we had a marvelous dinner out on my deck overlooking the valley. The clouds were wonderful and the temperature was mild to cool.

The dinner of course was superb. Grilled tuna steaks which had been marinated for 15 minutes in lime juice and tamari sauce. I took asparagus and wrapped it with some lemon juice in tin foil and put that on the grill to steam along with a separate foil packet of yellow and zucchini squash.

Then a wonderful salad of fresh greens and stuff and orzo with feta cheese and tomatoes. Spiced watermelon rind and apple chutney.

Of course a great bottle of wine from Australia. Little Penguin Shiraz.

For dessert we had orange angle food cake, homemade of course, with fresh blueberries, raspberries and strawberries and some lemon sorbet for those who wished it and coffee.

Great conversation and laughter and we sat on the deck until about 9:30 when they all had to go. Alas they had to work today.

I cleaned up the kitchen and set the dishes to wash and was in bed by about 10:15 or so and reading my new book called the Red Carpet. Its about India and Bangalore where I spent some time in the 70's.

About 11 PM the storm moved through. Huge cracks of lightening and wonderful rolls of thunder all around the house and the valley. Rain came down hard but the wind was not blowing for some reason. I shut the sliding glass doors so the rain would not come in and sat in bed and watched and listened and marveled at the show put on for my benefit. It was truly amazing.

Then it was over in about 40 minutes and the storm moved through and I got up to open the doors once again to allow the cool breezes to flow through the house. The fireflies in the pasture were spectacular. Hundreds and thousands of them all at once. Like an incredible light show. I watched for 20 minutes and then went to bed.

So that was my night. I wonder about yours?

peace today and always

I actually have a day off today.

Another big storm yesterday afternoon and they are predicting big thunder storms for the next 5-6 days every afternoon.

I went to the movies yesterday afternoon with my movie slut buddy and another friend. Afterwards we were wondering what to do for dinner and I suggested they come back to my house to eat leftovers from my dinner party the night before.

They agreed and it was great heating up everything we could find to eat in the refrigerator. Good meal out on the deck. The night was gorgeous.

Today I must pull those damned WEEDS! I hate the suckers and wish them many unkind deaths.

Peace to all except of course weeds! LOL!

Well the rain is continuing on into Sunday. Yesterday morning was rainy and then yesterday afternoon was lovely. Nice breeze, sunshine and very nice. Last evening was also nice as well and then it started to rain sometime early this AM.

Church in awhile but for now its JUB and coffee. What more could a guy ask for?

Saw a concert last night which was good. Did not get home until 10:30 PM which is very late for me. LOL! Really it is.

Hope your day is a good one. Sorry this is so short but I have stuff to do! HA!

peace

Looks like another day of rain. Maybe it is the remnants of the hurricane that hit the coast the other day. Not sure. We do need it but we also need to make out hay and now it is all bent over in the field. You can still cut it but it is harder. Very thick this year.

Today I really don't have a whole lot on my plate which is unusual.

I may drive to town for a haircut later. Not sure. haven't decided or made an plans yet.

So far its just e-mail, coffee, JUB and now blog.

Lots of fireflies again last night. Not sure if the rainy weather has something to do with that. I think it must but I don't know.

Peace to you all today and always

A thought for today from the a Los Angeles Times editorial.

It's not every day that an extinct species comes to life, so bird enthusiasts were understandably aflutter when Science magazine led its issue with a report of multiple sightings of the Ivory-billed woodpecker...whose demise had been assumed because it hadn't been definitively spotted since 1944. ....

The question of whether the birds are alive or dead can seem insignificant when compared with the environmental calamity that a recent United Nations report urges us to confront. One fifth of the world's coral reefs and a third of its mangrove forests have been destroyed in recent decades...leaving a third of all animals and plant species at some risk of extinction.

The very grimness of the U.N. report is what makes the woodpecker's hopeful story so compelling.

peace to all

What another gorgeous sunny and breezy day it is today. We are blessed to live in this place.

Malcolm Gladwell in the New York Times--
Video games are not games in the sense of those pastimes--like Monopoly or gin rummy or chess -- which most of us grew up with. They don't have a set of unambiguous rules that have to be learned and then followed during the course of play. This is why many of us find modern video games baffling: we're not used to being in a situation where we have to figure out what to do. We think we only have to learn how to press the buttons faster. But these games withhold critical information from the player. Players have to explore and sort through hypotheses in order to make sense of the game's environment...

At the same time, players are required to manage a dizzying array of information and options. The game presents the player with a series of puzzles, and you can't succeed at the game simply by solving the puzzles one at a time. You have to craft a longer-term strategy, in order to juggle and coordinate competing interests.

Yeah I know it's Thursday. So what? you might ask and I would ask the same thing. So what? Just another day in the progression of days in the week, the year, the month etc.

I got up this AM a bit late for me around 6:15 AM. It was light out and looked like it was going to be a great day. I went and took my early morning pee but I was not pee hard this AM. Why sometimes am I pee hard and toher times I am not. My bladder was still full of pee.

My house sits up on the side of the valley looking down into the valley and this AM I was above the fog which was swirling around in the valley below me. It was completely obscuring the valley floor. A few tress were poking their leaves and branches up through the fog which looked kind of spooky but beautiful.

Above was brilliant blue skies and the big hill outside my house was alight with the morning sun. The grass on the hillside was covered with dew. Four deer were making their way cautiously across the hill and back up into the rhododendron forest to their homes for the day. Not sure where they go in the day or what they do but normally you don't see them in the day so I guess they sleep deep in the woods.

Oh it is so good to be alive I thought as I slid my sliding screen door back and walked naked onto the deck to look at the scene below me. It was incredible and felt so good to be there above the clouds or fog looking down.

So that was how I started my day. I am thinking about getting a haircut today. I am getting a bit shaggy around the edges.

peace to you all

I know sometimes this blog seems repetitious. Get up see what's happening - work - go to bed and oh see a movie or read a book and maybe have dinner with friends!

I seem to describe the mornings most often don't I?

Last night I had dinner with a friend on my deck. Grilled chicken, and steamed squash on the grill along with fresh pineapple, a salad and a baked sweet potato.

Great view of the valley. People working in their gardens. Weeding and planting and tilling the soil. The sounds of a mower in the distance and a farmer plowing a garden patch in the near ground.

A wonderful breeze was blowing and the clouds were fantastic. I mean incredible. The sky was so blue and the clouds were all puffy and white.

A few buzzards were gliding on the invisible downdraft's in the sky and all was right with my world.

Then the sun started to set and the clouds turned pink and red and it was quite a show for us. Free no charge and just for us it seemed although anyone could watch for free.

What a great way to end the day.

So hey I hope you have a wonderful weekend and get to rest or relax or hang with friends or maybe like me you will be working but at least if that is so I hope you enjoy what you do as much as I enjoy what I do!

peace to all
