It is early and here I am in front of the computer typing this blog entry.

The lower part of the valley was filled with swirling fog while the upper parts were free and clear. It was supposed to be very cold last night but it felt warmer this AM as I went outside to get in my truck and drive to get the Sunday paper which is my ritual on Sunday morning. I love the drive with no one on the road. Just me and an ealry morning gospel show on WNCW that i listen to.

Yesterday evening the deer were out in numbers with about 12-15 coming out of the forest and into the fileds to come down the hill and drink from the creek in front of my house. I love to watch them as they make their way ever so cautiously. Always alert. Always aware of everything around them. Their ears constantly on the look out for a strange or threatening noise that will send them into flight or to stand so still you can't see them move.

I saw Black Snake Moan last night and it was awesome. Really incredible acting and directing and music.

We need the rain it has been so dry around here. We are getting some today. Light and staedy. Not sure how long it will last but....at least we are getting some moisture.

My pond is covered with scum and algae from the loack of rain and all the hot sun. The fish are still there swimming underneath the gross scum but they need some new water.

Got lots to do today so i had best be off. I am also off this weekend and think I will travel somewhere. Maybe Greensboro to visit some friends.

Oh what a perfectly glorious day this day has been. Nice and foggy and a bit cool to start the day and then the sun came up over the mountains around our little valley and the mist was left swirling in the bottom of the valley. Oh it was so beauitful.

Then the sun came out and a small breeze has been blowing but it has been delightful. I have been out in the woods all day long just walking and talking to myself and enjoying the day and the leaves crunching underfoot. The waterfall was still very nice even though the water is way down.

So yesterday was sort of like a blur I was on the run most for the day. Out on the farm, driving aorund the filed, checking fence lines, up in the woods, seeing deer and turkeys. I hardly had time to sit still and think.

But it was a good day.

OK today is Thursday and we got just a bit more rain early this AM. Enough to wet the ground and keep the dust down which on our gravel road has been really overpowering lately with all this dry weather we have been having.

I saw this young guy at the paint store yesterday and he knocked my socks off he was so freaking hot. Tall and thin and some of that hair on his chin. Great smile and short black hair. It is the end of most folks weeks today. I am off this weekend and then at meetings all next week off site. So I will not be checking in after Sunday I guess if I can make it here then.

We had some more drizzle over night. Enough to keep the dust down and the roads damp. Some people drive like crazy on our country dirt roads and the dust just boils up and gets over everything. It really does no good to wash ones truck or car because as soon as you do it gets dirty all over again.

Saw 6 deer last night from my deck. They are so cautious and so beautiful as their ears move this way and that trying to detect a threat to them. When they run away their tails flip up showing their white behinds. Not sure why that is because it would seem to me that it would be a easy target for a hunter.

I am not a hunter and really don't like killing at all but some of my neighbors are hunters and I respect them for eating what they kill. The deer in our area are getting over populated and must be thined out on a yearly basis. It is not good for their health to have to many and then they have to compete for their food supplies. Right now it is bow season, then black powder then regular guns.

Did you miss me at all? Did you miss my terribly exciting weather reports each and every day? Hey I am sure you did. LOL!

Well it rained for almost 5 days straight while I was gone so maybe I ought to leave more often. We got maybe 3-4 inches of rain. We are still in drought conditions but at least we got some rain.

GREAT meetings this past week. Good people. Good ideas. Good work. Long hard days of work but it was worth it in the end. We got lots done.

I feel so sorry for all the folks in California affected by the fires. I can't beleive that an arsonist set the fires and that so many folks are affected by their work. They should be strung up in the public square. How can anyone do that? 2 of the folks at my meeting were from the area and to watch the anguish on their faces as they heard from friends and family back home. It was terrible to watch.

Wow and double wow and triple wow. We have had some great days here in our little valley.

I have spent almost 2 entire days out in the woods just walking and enjoying the silence and the leaves and the sounds of the forest.

The weather has been so perfect.

Saw deer and turkeys everywhere and saw evidence of bears clawing the trees high up to sharpen their claws. Went with an old timer who really knows the woods. The leaves are amazing and so gorgeous. I didn't want to come out. I wanted to just stay and get lost there forever.

We just walked and walked and sat and watched and listened. he is not much of a talker so it was just great being there and not having to talk. Just being in Gods creation.

OMG it was incredible. I am still high.

Yes we had yet another hard frost last night and there was white frost over everything this morning as I left for work I could see my breath and all. It was beautiful and the leaves will really continue to fall now!

I am still so high from my time in the woods yesterday. it was just an awesome day and I wish my words could really describe how I felt and what I saw.

I am off in a few moments to head down the mountain to Asheville for a series of meetings and some shopping in the "big city". Maybe lunch at the Indian Restaurant if I am lucky.

OK I have to admit that I am adicted to my blog. I love writing in here as many days as I can. It really satisfies something deep within me and I am just glad if one person looks at what I write and in some small way resonates with my writing.

I still can't write my stories any longer. I have tried but I am dry in that vein right now in my life. Not the time it takes to really write well. And I think if the truth be told as long as I am a virgin I can't really know what it is truly like to have a lover and have sex with a man. It is after all entirely made up and in my mind. I mean that is OK in so many ways but it jut makes my writing feel forced in someways. So maybe it will happen again but not right now. Also with my shadow around it is hard to have the time to devote to writing and as you probably know it takes a lot of time to write.

It is another in the series this week of great fall days. Full of sunshine and crisp mountain air. Bright skies and the leaves crunching underfoot as I walked out in the woods again this morning.

I saw 4 deer and last night on the hill outside my house I saw about 15-20 turkeys walking and wandering as they made their way through the pasture and into the woods.

Went to the waterfall yesterday afternoon and it was beautiful and rushing. the rocks can be slippery when wet so one must take caution.

There was two guys up there. Middle age. Were they gay? Were they straight? One was a road biker and was in guite good shape and he had his shirt off and he was quite hairy. Frosty cold this AM. Did you remember in the States to turn your clocks back one hour!

Lighter when I got up at 6 AM. Frost covering the ground as I looked outside through my sliding glass door. Well today is Tuesday in this part of the world.

Nice cold night with a cold front moving in. Drizzle all night long but it was not a huge downpour or anything. Enought to make a few puddles around the place.

I may go into town this afternoon and give blood if I can get away from work.

Also to let all my many fans know my schedule for the next few weeks.

I will out of town from Thursday through Sat and maybe I will get a chance to check in on Sun and then I am in New Orleans for almost 2 weeks on a mission trip. We will be rebuilding a house and staying in a church down there and I know I won't have access to a computer. I will be going with about 25 other folks. Men and women and teenagers and a few college students thrown in for good measure. Maybe one of them will be good looking enough for a few fantasy dreams along the way! We are going in two big church vans with a few pull behind trailers with all our tools and equiptment and supplies. We found that it would be cheaper to haul everything down there than to buy it. I will be back around Turkey Day and will try of course to check in then.
