The Vampire Diaries is doing fabulous in the ratings and I love it! Much better than Twilligt. It's a good one to watch while TB is off and reminds me so much of my beloved Dark Shadows!

I just saw the season 2 premiere, after hearing all summer how good this show is and DAMN! I was hooked before the opening titles. I won't give out any spoilers, but anyone who posted on this thread that stopped watching should tune back in. I'm amazed how good this was.

And yeah, the eye candy is unbelievable.

Yeah, I enjoyed tonight's episode a lot. I'm feeling a bit optimistic about this season, so far. I do have to say that I am loving the various pieces of man candy--it's never a bad thing to have a little more Tyler thrown in, and his uncle...hello hottie!

I didn't give this show a shot until its first season finished airing and I downloaded all the episodes. Must say Nina Dobrev has made a damn good transition from her Degrassi days, and she was equally fantastic in the season two premiere.

The men on the show, extra hot. Especially Ian and Steve. Can't wait to see what this new season has in store.

This is what i read about the new character,

HollywoodNews.com: After the announcement that “90210″ will be following “Glee”’s lead in having one of the main male characters come out as gay, another popular CW show is following suit. Kevin Williamson, creator of “Vampire Diaries” and a supporter of GLSE (the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network), reveals that a new gay character is coming to Mystic Falls when “Vampire Diaries” returns in the fall.

“My writing staff is just a mixture of gay or gay-friendly. We all just sit around and talk about ‘Glee’ and ‘Why don’t we have a gay character?’” he says. “Which character can be gay? Which character won’t? Where will it fit in? How can I get the gay character in? I don’t want to sound like I’m a militant about it, like THERE MUST BE A GAY CHARACTER, even though I am. It’s not just that, it’s also diversity. I always feel like I don’t have enough diversity on my show, and that is one of the things I’m very conscientious of, and not just gay characters. Any diversity. In anything, I want everyone represented. I want everybody on the show.”

Some woman on some dumb entertainment preview thing.... said that Tyler, that guy who is secretly a werewolf like his dad the mayor, will have a 'special' relationship with Jeremy.

Which to me sounds incredily hot, as are both actors.

But it does annoy me when just to bring the gay crowd for a series they change established characters who showed no signs of closeted homosexual behaviour, angst, or conflicting desires throughout the show.

If you're gonna have a gay charater great! But make it believable otherwise pandering to bring is this crowd, or that crowd, just makes a programme seem contrived and shit.

I'm assuming it's Tyler's uncle. He spent half of the Season 2 premiere whispering softly to, or draped over, Tyler. The homoeroticism was off the charts.

Both Tyler and Jeremy had already exhibit an unique attraction or bond between the 2 of them in the first season following Vicki's disappearance. It wouldn't be that far of a stretch to allow them have a homoerotic relationship develop over time.

^^I liked tonight's episode. It might not have seemed quite as riveting because it was focused on the more ancillary characters. But, seriously, I could watch Tyler read a freaking phone book and not have a single complaint--that Michael Trevino is smoking hot!!!

I thought episode was really good,

i liked Caroline's transformation in the Hospital. The mystery of the Lockwoods continues, wonder what the Moonstone is?? does is keep the wolf locked in or unlock it??
It goes without saying (but i wll) Shirtless tyler and Mason wolfing out
Is Damon guna help Jeremy with his whittling

I kinda felt bad for Caroline since she was one of the few characters that stayed out of the fray of craziness. Also because she had already been a victim of Damon.

Also both Michael Trevino (Tyler) and Mason (Taylor Kinney) are pretty easy on the eyes shirtless or not.
