There are some games that I have played where I really loved the storylines. They really spoke to me. I've always wondered if others felt similar.
Some examples would be Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy Tactics, Lunar: The Silver Star Story, and Vandal Hearts II.
I've always wondered if I would feel the same way if the same story was told in a film. I almost don't think so because I don't think the storyline portion of video games is all that long, so you probably would end up with something more akin to a short film than a feature length film.
I think the interactivity of the game makes me more invested in the characters than a short film would.
What do all of you think? What games have spoken to you?
I wonder if this is something that should be in Entertainment. If the mods think so feel free to move this thread.
