Watching Brad

^ TRUTH.

In the past 30 years, it's possible I've read only ONE other story (of any length, short or long) that made me cry. Now, this one, it was over and over and over again. "Are you my new daddy?" Wow...all I had to do was post that little question and there's the "waterworks" again...a YEAR after reading it.

And all this while, all along, fully recognizing that none of these people exist in real life (though Neil did sort of model some characters from his own life interactions and such).

Thanks, frankfrank. I think about these guys 24/7. But wow! I just finished pt. 106, where Ted finally goes to Warren and Bill for help. I couldn't stop crying. 😭Such a sad, touching, wonderful, depressing, tough scene. To have a friend like Warren would be amazing. I hope that Neil has someone like Warren in his life. I wish I did. I hope that you do. Can't wait to see Ted get on the back side of this. Guess I'll have to keep reading.

Hi, Clover and Frank Frank.

Thanks for posting your thoughts as you wind your way through this great novel. Your snippets bring back memories.

As I was reading this over the past few times, I tried to visualize the neighborhoods in the story but knew I wasn't getting it quite right. Over the past 2 summers, and possibly again, this summer, I've been able to go to similar cities in Canada, including Toronto. Gives me a much better visual and understanding. I love this story, have read it completely through at least twice, and keep hoping for more chapters soon.

Neil had hoped to post a chapter for a Christmas surprise.

Sadly, he had a most unfortunate alternate surprise when he fell and broke his hip, wrist, and shoulder.

He's doing remarkably well on the recovery, but it's put him off his game, so to speak.

Don, thanks for the update on Neil. I was wondering as he had messaged me a couple of time but I haven't heard from him in the last couple of weeks. I figured something unfortunate had happened. Hope he get better soon. And hope you're doing well. Thanks again.
Bill

^ It happened last November 9. Took a bit of a fall outside on a concrete walkway beside my home. Fractured the right hip, wrist, and shoulder. Surgery pinned and plated my hip and wrist, but the shoulder had to heal on its own. I spent 1 month and 1 day in hospital. I don't recommend it.

Ironically, 2 years ago this month, I slipped on some ice and broke my left hip. It was replaced by titanium.

Needless to say, it has put a damper on things and my writing has suffered enormously.

It sucks getting old.

Part 117
"That little park scene caused me more problems than any other portion of this story. I knew it had to happen because of Brad's outburst, but I couldn't make it work. I was almost ready to go back and rewrite the session with Dr. Davis, Ted, and Brad and remove the outburst when I decided to give Skater Boy one more chance.
I'm glad I did." - Neil
I'm so glad you did too, Neil. In my minds eye I could see that hot skater, all wet with perspiration, skating up to the park bench. What a great way to get Ted to see Brad's point of view. And the hard ons weren't a bad idea either. 😜 can't wait to read more...

By the way, I agree, it sucks getting old. Good healing to you.

Neil,
First off this isn't my first post however I have been reading WB for sometime now and I read before bed, in bed and in the morning. I realise that this was written many years ago and i'm still catching up. Many have said it before "you are a great writer" given your ailments this is extremely an achievement. I wish you the best for your health both physically and mentally.
According to JUB i'm still a virgin (I wish that was the case). WB has many parts that I can relate to as an older gay man who grew up with knowing I was gay but in the early 70's it was not a good idea to be open about it.
I look forward to reading more and If I may I'd love a list of your other stories (maybe there is a way of looking them up but I will investigate that) Be well, Peace, Love and Happiness to you my friend.

^ The story began in May of 2006. It was to be a very short 'short story', maybe 2 or 3 chapters. Something happened. It isn't finished yet, at least not it words. It's finished in my mind. I just have to get to the point where my life and health don't interfere with doing it.

Anyway, there are a few other stories here, probably deep in the archives. The links should be here: http://www.justusboys.com/forum/showthread.php?t=107877

Neil,
I hope you are on the mend. I wasn't going to text again but...alas...I feel I must. I just finished chapter 125 and I'm out of Kleenex (from crying so much). First you got me with (spoiler alert for those who haven't read up to here) Warren's coming out of the coma. It was a touching way to write it. The kiss giving it away to Ted and then Brad getting so upset at how Ted was talking to Warren. Marvelous. I balled. Then a chapter or two later the scene in the parole hearing was so sad. Connie looked so downtrodden. The way you described her clutching the picture of her daughter...the way Ted really thought she might have changed. It was great. I can't wait to see what's next. Looking forward to the "weekend celebration", whatever it is that Ted has cooked up for them.
I also must say that, being a dirty SOB, I do read these stories mostly for the sex scenes, and I do really enjoy your sex scenes. But usually if there are two or three chapters without fucking and sucking, I'm outa there. But you have kept me biting my nails, wanting to read the next chapter before I even finish that chapter. Thanks again for your talent. I must venture on to chapter 126.
Bill

Neil,
As this thread is about life in Canada, I thought this meme from Facebook appropriate.

SHEEP??!?!!!?

Wow, long time no see.

I notice your status has changed in a wonderful way.

Still hoping to run into you again one of these days, but I haven't even been to anywhere in Ontario since 2006. That DAMNED border, I hate it.

Hey Frank
That status goes back 9.5 years officially. Couldn't take living in sin anymore lol I know what you mean about the border. My last time was in 2009, a year after the meet in St. Louis. I had a vacation and a cruise from Miami where everything went terribly wrong. Haven't been away since and won't be going anywhere in he future. If I ever finish Swim Team which is at 363,000 words now, I might write a short story about that trip. It will be listed under Comedy (of errors). I won't start that until the present story is finished which it nearly is.
take care ..|

Neil, I love these guys, all of them. And even their friends and parents. Yes I started reading because of the great way you write the sex, but I am now up to Part 212, and keep reading because of the love and caring that you have stitched into the story of people who seem so real. I really love the times when they visit their sweet friend in Pererborough.
I hope you are doing better physically. We all love you and appreciate your talent and thank you for the time and energy it takes to write for us. Thanks you, Neil.
Bill

Yes clover55, this is so much more than "just another sex story." Of course you will eventually run into my comments, as you finally reach the posts from January 2015, when I got entirely swept up into the novel. It's certainly the most extreme amount of reading that I've ever done with any kind of story - I think in sheer size it rivals War and Peace, or perhaps even The Holy Bible KJV.

As hot as the sex is, that's not even the main highlight of the story; it's more how the characters are brought so "to life" that I started to feel that I knew Brad, Warren, etc. even better than I know most of my friends.

Hi, Frank and Clover.
Thanks for keeping Neil's great tome alive and well.
