but yeah, i would say that the benefits of being gay is that you get to feel a bit of freedom where you can pretty much do anything you want in a sense. you can wear pink shirts, purple shirts, dress up in drag, play madonna cds outloud and basically not have to worry about your manliness or manhood being questioned for whatever you chose to do. yeah, society WILL look down on you and try to say that you're NOT a man BUT forget society for a second. i think being gay just boosts your sense of courage and confidence because you're owning yourself even if it's deemed as shameful by society. it's a whole lot better than some of these cowardly guys that basically do all these stupid things to follow "man law" or "the guy code" or the "code of manhood" or "rules of masculinity". even though i am a part of the lgbt community, i still have a sense of ownership with myself where i accept my gayness as a part of me and not me being owned by my gayness.

another beneficial thing too that i think is there is that i think it's a whole lot easier to get laid and to find someone compared to being a straight guy. gay guys seem to be more open about their sexuality than straight women are. straight women are picky as hell too with everything. gay guys on the other hand, there's always a guy outthere that will date you even if you're not all that interested in them. even though it may be hard to find a date for some gay guys outthere. it's NOT impossible to find yourself a date or someone to fuck compared to a straight guy. men are not as picky as women so some point in your lifetime, YOU will eventually get a date or have sex.

I want to make the slight nitpick on your post that you made this claim and then talked about how because of it we have this blend of male and female traits.... I don't think of the two hemispheres of the brain as male and female, or men and women not also using both hemispheres.

I'd say no unwanted pregnancy, but the inability to create life balances that out for me.

Getting a woman to put out is a lot more work, though. I've had plenty of straight friends talk to me about "dry spells" lasting months to a year. I can not (and will not) relate to that.

And frankly, especially if she's at all annoyed with her boyfriend or if anything is up with her mood or stress levels or self-image, a lot of women seem totally fine with no sex for long periods even when it's not a punishment per se. I've spent a lifetime hearing women say this isn't true and that they get horny just like men, but I've spent that same lifetime listening to male friends talk about how they go through prolonged periods where they're lucky to get sex twice a month or something when getting off is something guys tend to want much much more regularly.

And we can create life silly... just not with our partners, which admittedly is a big drawback, but it's not like we're eunuchs. But this is the 21st century after all.

I can only agree with to a certain extent.Yes I do agree that both gays, and women, especially black women have their disadvantages. But there is one thing that separates gay men, and women, and that's, Visualization. People, and society can see the fact, that I AM A WOMAN, AND I AM BLACK. People may already have set their mind on what they think about me without me even opening up my mouth, or do anything. You on the other hand, may not have to face discrimination, and it's because people do not you are gay,unless you open up your mouth, and tell them so. They cannot see your gayness, like they can see my blackness, and my femaleness.

I totally agree with you that you can't "wake up one morning and decide not to think about gender or race" if you are a woman or a minority. That's something that too many white people don't get, for sure.
