I can't speak for everyone, but I would be dead by now from all the BJs and cum I have had in my mouth. Most common and easily transmitted STDs from oral sex are: herpes, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Chlamydia can also be caught through oral sex but not as common. Some carriers don't develop symptoms so they don't even know they have an STD. Your only way to protect yourself is to either use condoms for oral sex (which is not realistic at all) or to know that your partner has been tested. The STD that we're becoming more and more aware of is HPV. There are several strains that cause cancers- in particular oral and anal cancers. It used to be that most oral cancers were connected to tobacco use. In the past 20 years, there has been a significant increase in cancer of the mouth and throat. The majority of those cancers are showing positive for HPV and we believe the increase is connected to HPV transmission during oral sex.
