Attention What are you doing at the moment? 2024-25

Finished trimming my toenails.

It gets harder every time. How can my toes be getting farther away if I'm not getting taller?
Maybe you can have Vannie's podiatrist friend take care of this. Of course, you'd have to pay--and since this friend is a friend of Vannie, the demanded payment might be in the form of crates of cabbage.

I'm making some iced tea for later. Although, since I don't have any ice, it'll only be cold, refrigerated tea.

These days, I make this by making regular tea, which gets chilled. For some reason, I've thought a few times this summer about instant tea, which was how my grandmother made it. I have sentimental memroies of that, although I can't imagine that the tea was the best tea ever. At a moment of weakness, i did consider getting a jar to try...but it appears that it's no longer available, at least in the form I knew (unsweetened). Although it' s probably best to leave that tea as a happy memory of visits to Grandma when I was younger and a lot less discerning.

Put your foot up on the eat of the toilet. Seems to be one of the best places...the height is just about perfect.
Merci, but I'm already doing that as well as other methods. I was merely posting in a self-deprecating jibe for the laughs.

But you're very kind to suggest the help.

Busy working today again.

Less pressure so I am able to quietly poke along and get some major pieces of work out before the start of the week for everyone.

In spite of our neighbours about 1500 feet away having a party into the early hours, and having to get up 3 times to piss because I drank so much water last night, I slept okay...so my nap this afternoon will really be more about reading and relief for my incredibly sore back.

A little while ago, I had a short Internet outage. I've had the same ISP for years. When it was a smaller company, I had good rates, excellent customer service, and very reliable Internet. Today, they are larger, not as good customer service, not very good rates that keep going up and up and up some more, and reliability is not what it was.

Internet companies penalise loyal customers by hiking the price every year in the expectation that many/most customers are too busy living their lives to look elsewhere. I used Virgin Media for my internet for several years. In the first year, the price was about £25 per month, but by spring of this year it had exceeded £80. I told them to get lost and switched to EE which is charging me £27 per month. Not only that, but the signal strength is far superior. With Virgin, I was constantly having to hit the reconnect button or sit through slow response times. My only regret is not switching sooner.

My advice is twofold. Firstly, switch regularly to get the best deal. Secondly, never buy Virgin.

Seems to be the case. Another thing that has gotten me is that my ISP has had much better rates for new customers. I complained to a customer service person--one who actually was decent--and he agreed with me, but said it was an industry thing.

Unfortunately, the choices where I live are limited, unless one does cell phone based Internet. I think is the direction I'll probably go in, but I have to find a suitable plan yet.

Today's Laundry Thrill was using a bit of old fashioned bluing. I hoped it would make my cum rag super snowy white.

True. Insurance companies are just as bad which is why one should shop around for home and car insurance every year. It rarely pays to be a loyal customer.

My house insurance irks. They say the joint is worth over $470,000. They have never seen it. They go by "market" whatever exactly that is but it looks to me like they look at Zillow. So somehow my 1981 house is worth as much as a a McMansion 4 miles away.

They won't go lower than $325,000. "Rules". I've told them I'm not re-building, I'll get a mobile home pulled in or just buy a travel trailer. I mean, if all my stuff is destroyed, why would I want to have the house rebuilt and then live in an empty house?

So I raised my deductible. From $5 grand to $10 grand. Dropped the annual premium a bit over $600.

Working quietly back at home office after being in the office office this morning.

I spent that time clearing my desk of extraneous paper as a step toward easing out of working in town at all.

Now, I am looking toward taking some painkillers and going off for a nap before winding up the day when I wake up. Usually, if people have got their nonsense out of the way in the morning and early afternoon, I can get a couple of quiet hours before the last flurry from around 4 to 5.

Cooling off. It's 93f with 36% humidity but it feels hotter. There's not a breath of air moving. I hoisted the old air compressor into the pick-up's bed. I've bought a replacement. I'll unload it Friday at the street. Someone will take it, for an air tank it nothing else.
Then I swabbed down the patio furniture and grills using a ran and a bucket of water. Lots of dust and pollen. Refilled the bucket and poured water on everything to rinse. Looks more like someone lives here and it's not an abandoned house.

Im sure the foot arches he gives me are about 25 bucks and he probably charges the insurance 300.

Off for my afternoon nap and a read before finishing up business between 4 and 6pm today.
