  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Attention What are you doing at the moment? 2024-25

ugh.

Finished first meeting of the morning on ZOOM and now heading out for in-person meeting with new client team in about an hour.

Tired because I woke up trying to work at 3am. Fuck.

So the thing I was lying awake during the night fretting about had been covered off and now I am still tired because I missed my nap but should sleep better tonight because I am catching up a tiny bit today.

Waiting for a tornado to wipe out my house.

listening to my neighbors lawn being mowed...having a cawfee....watching the Florida rain....thinking of kittens. puppies and cock....

When I was a boy my Dad would say Goodnight goodnight don't let the bed bugs bite!

And the scabiës... and the HIV... and the Herpes... and the Hepatitis C... and the chlamydia and the special case of chlamydia lymphogranuloma venereum and the gonorrhea and the syphilis "Helloooh Karen Blixen!

(Didn't actually get Hepatitis C or HIV).

The pubic lice are quite harmless once you figure out how to take care of them.

Typically they have no clue at the drugstores here and don't carry stuff against public lice (just five even though you can easily order it from there).

Scabiës also not a big deal. Just get permethrine salve and follow the instructions. Permethrine salve does not require a prescription in some pharmacies in The Netherlands but in others they claim it does.

That too can be ordered at the drugstores here.

Bedbugs are a bit more of a problem. My boyfriend had them in Paris.

We treated them ourselves with the help of a Kirgiz friend from Germany who said the problem was very common in Moskou.

I can't have any solid food today, just clear liquids because I am getting a colonoscopy tomorrow. I am not looking forward to it. I also told my doctor that I had trouble swallowing a few times and he wants to put a camera on a wire down my throat too. Although he is doing them separately I had to laugh because I could picture the camera from my throat and the camera going from my back-end both meeting in the middle and shaking hands. When you get old there is no privacy.

So far I have drunk apple juice for breakfast, walked around the block, went to the bank, and deleted 152 daily emails. Now I am just killing time on the computer and will probably read later. This afternoon I will have to stay home and near a bathroom because I will be drinking that stuff to prepare for the colonoscopy.

Worked on 14 different projects today, trying to juggle all the balls in the air.

It was funny, because it was totally like the old days 35 years ago when my partner and I would be doing it all...and here we are again. But now we are old and b.ut by 3pm, we were fucking exhausted.

But the weather was great for driving to and from meetings today and we 'treated' ourselves to Popeye's Crispy Chicken sandwich which really is the best fucking sandwich.

Manscaping. I need to trim the arms, legs and pubes a bit every week, otherwise Id look like Sasquatch.

I'm back from my colonoscopy and it was a success and the other thing he was doing with my throat. He found one polyp , which he removed, and a narrow spot in my lower esophagus, which he widened some, so I won't have trouble swallowing, which may have been caused by the acid reflux I had a month or so ago. I came home and had half a bowl of tomato soup with oyster crackers, half a grilled cheese sandwich with a pickle, and a pecan shortbread cookie for desert. I had three courses for lunch, but they were all small servings. I am going to go through some emails and then read a book. I have two books to read, a gay romance novel and a regular historical romance novel which I switch off between so I don't get too involved in the stories, like some people get involved in soap operas on TV.

I’m impatiently waiting for 3 so I can leave work.

Worked on projects this morning and then sorted out the transfer of our business land lines to digital mobile....what an ordeal having to disengage from Bell after 30 years.

I ended up with a customer 'loyalty officer' who immediately started talking over me and arguing with me...and then once I made him give me verbatim the data from our account profile to give to Telus...which he then conceded was totally different than what appears on our billing...in parting he wanted to know why we were shifting from Bell.

So I explained to Amoub, how one account at a time, Bell had lost our business for home phone, mobile and internet through bad service, overcharging without remorse and finshed with not appreciating accounts representatives who talk at you and over you and argue with their customers.

And because the calls are recorded, I can assure you that he just went nice and quiet and became almost friendly.

At one time, I was loaded up with Bell Canada stock but dumped it about a decade or so ago when I could see that they would end up losing a huge share of their market through arrogance and indifference

We will save almost $4800 this year by dropping them....money I can spend on buying the cats pretty things.
