Attention What are you doing at the moment? 2024-25

Just home from a walk. There was over 100 people at my park. Who do they think they are? 😂 there’s usually a handful and I walk far enough that I’m usually by myself. I hope they don’t make this a habit.

Paying $2? Even $1?
The vast majority of people mail very little by USPS, so the cost would be low. Businesses can afford it.

And when I stop seeing poor people buy crap at convenience stores, I'll believe they can't afford a letter.

I send Christmas cards. That's about it anymore. I'm down to 7 cards a year. Where are all the old folks anyway? I use to write about 20 checks a month what with the mortgage / rent, water, electricity, gas, trash, and cable TV on two places, plus phone, car payment, and magazine and book clubs. While I have a cockatiel sitting on my shoulder and nibbling my ear.

The electric bills hit checking directly now. I don't even have to read the meter anymore. Everything else hits a credit card. So a couple of cell phones, Sling, and groceries and stuff. The two cards are paid off every month. 1% and 1.5% cash back isn't a lot but it slowly adds up. On-line banking is freaking awesome and I don't have to go to town to drop my mail at the Post Office anymore.

The former mail carrier was lazy about out going mail. I think he had a tub in the back of his car that he took into the PO once a week or when it was full. Like, the house payment? Put it in the mailbox 10 days early and have a late payment charge because it arrived 10 days late. Take it to the PO 4 days before due date and never a problem. Complain at the PO? Not their problem that your payment arrived late.

As for postage, have you bought anything on eBay lately? Like, PEZ dispensers. The VHS tape size Priority Mail box was about $5 and one could stuff in 10 $2 dispensers in a box. Postage went up, eBay rates went up and yeah, now it's $5 per dispenser.

That's not actually postage.

At least a decade ago, sellers began lying about unit price and postage. It allows the item to be sorted higher up based on price IF postage is not included in the sort. Further, there was a long history of sellers being willing to combine orders for one shipment to save on postage. Now, many will not.

In essence, the profit and cost were shifted to postage where it could be concealed, and the end result is the seller actually does combine the shipment but charges the separate fees per unit anyway.

It's identical to the Craigslist ruse of the seller listing the car or whatever for $1 so it sorts highest. I flag every one I see.

Today I am trying to decide whether to laugh or cry at the antics of a client organization's team member.

Someone with an opinion on everything including all the subjects outside of their role and understanding, who doesn't read the documents provided....and always waits until a direction is selected or something is complete to second guess and try to get everything to start back at the beginning.

JUBing at work. I’m the only one here.

Started a load of laundry. I used a detergent pack, and--like usual--my Inner 7th Grader noted that part of the liquid in the pack looks like cum. Fitting, since I'm washing sheets, which might have cum stains.

Up after a nice nap this afternoon, following limbing some of the tree that fell on our house in the last snowstorm in order to clear the path up to the compost bins and upper west lawn.

I am noticing a huuuuge difference in capacity to do chores after this winter's COVID and Bronchial Pneumonia. It feels like I have added ten years.

Up too early this morning. The kitties aren’t going to let me sleep in today

Trying to decide what, if anything, I want for breakfast.

We have some leftover wild rice that I could scramble an egg in. Or maybe a soft tomato taco with scrambled egg.

Drinking tea after dinner.

Bought the wrong antihistamines.

Wish they sold diphenhydramine here like in Florida where I bought it last time.

Dying of itch.
