Attention What are you doing at the moment? 2024-25

Part of me has been wondering if it's time to get rid of pie plates... I can't even remember the last time I made a pie.

I did fantasize about making a sfrawberry pie like what my mother made during the local strawberry season. Except strawberries no longer work with my "poor white trash" grocery budget. And had I made that pie, anyway, I'd probably buy a pre-made graham cracker crust.
 
You can cook in pie plates. Say, a chicken breast and a few veggies or potatoes. It's like a little cookie sheet that you can eat dinner from.

My Dad did this all the time after my Mom died.

He would do some kind of pork chop or chicken with potatoes and a vegetable. Season and covered with foil and dinner all in one.

Wasn't bad.

I wonder a better choice here would be a shallow CorningWare dish with a cover. No need to fuss with foil--although there is the minus of a cover to wash.

Earlier meant another load of laundry. I'd planned to line dry it, but after the washing machine had started, it began sprinkling outside... I really should check the weather forecast before starting laundry.

At least, I"m now pretty much caught up with laundry. For the moment, at least.
 
I should run a load of laundry because there is enough. Then again, it's hit or miss if the the water valve will keep dripping after a load. Right now it's not dripping and I have plenty of clean clothes.
I can replace the water valve again. It's not difficult or an expensive part. It's just a pain in the ass to move the machine far enough from the wall so I can get to the back side.
When it drips, it's almost a cup a day. I have a plastic cup in the tub, easy to toss the water out the back door. The machine is about 25 years old. Maytag.
 
family phone calls at the end of the week....and planning for a conference we are sponsoring in October in Toronto....busy day.

I didn't eat dinner so I'm hungry.

And kinda watching Your Honor on Netflix just to get it over with.

If you've pissed anyone off, they're more likely to miss you than if you've always been a shrinking violet. The thread you mention isn't always used for people missed in a positive way.
 
I've just surfaced (it's 8.17am) and am still lying on my bed feeling sleepy. Should hit the shower and start my day.

Wishing conversion therapy worked...

Posted some commentary elsewhere on this site, which made me realize that some of my political views make me unwelcome in the gay community. It might be best for all of us if my gay just went way...

Of course, I know it won't. All I can do is suffer in a world where I belong by virtue of sexual orientation, but am unwelcome because I don't want to kiss certain political asses.
