Getting some correspondence out before the actual day begins. God I still hate Mondays.

At 8:55, it is gloomy and rumblings of storms.

I didn't have the best night's sleep because of the weather and the damp is fucking up my back today.....
 
Just got back from my morning walk at the mall because it is drizzling on and off outside. It was a little dangerous going to the mall because I shouldn't buy anything, but there is a shirt at the Express store in their window that I am admiring. Yesterday I checked the price on it, and I expected about $45 to $50 dollars, but it was $74. I passed up on it, but I am still thinking about it.

Today I got an email from Ancestry, which I have membership in, that said they have a new match of my DNA with a 2nd cousin twice removed. The name was familiar and I asked my sister how we knew that name. It turned out to be my 1st cousin's granddaughter who I had met several years ago when she was a girl. She is probably an adult by now.
 
Rainy Thursday...wiped out from yesterday's meetings.

I had to raise my voice a couple of times to get a group of grown men to stop behaving like children as they argued and waved their dicks around.

Trying to clear my list of memos, notes and to do's today.

But I am definitely going to go for a nap this aft and then finish up work before dinner.
 
Making Daging Smoor (Dutch-Indonesian dish) for the dinner party with my mother and ex tomorrow.

Also fillling another glass jar (empty jar of tamarind paste) with the jelly from one of the redcurrant jars that had a lid that wasn't airtight.
 
^^ yum. I love Dutch Indonesian cooking. My Frisian grandmother had an Indonesian cook after she was married who taught her so many things.
 
We bought a cookbook at the big Dutch-Indonesian fair. My Parisian lover asked me to make the same dish when I go see him in Paris beginning next month.

I put some crushed dried chipotle pepper in the braised neef.

Made this dish before, but bought a few things we don't usually have with it.

Let's see what my ex says.

I am mostly familiar with the name for coffee makers, starting with one that my mother bought when I was in junior high.

It's roasted at their plant, near Interstate 295 and Haddonfield-Berlin Road in Cherry Hill, NJ. You can often smell it as you drive by.
They have semi-annual warehouse sales there where coffee makers and filters are also on sale.
 
omg. I can hardly stand it.

I have a realtively light working day today...an actual lazi-ish Sunday.

Just organizing my stuff for the upcoming week.

I will need a nap this afternoon though. Our neighbours (about 1000 feet away) had a campfire/music thing last night and as it died down, then the atmospheric conditions were right so that the wind turbines to the west of us actually jarred me from sleep for a few hours, even with windows closed
 
I just adjusted a sheet that is drying on the line outside. There is something I heard once about how to hang laundry. It was something like "tops from the bottom" which sounds like a gay reference to my filthy mind. :lol:

Given that the dryer here went to the Laundry Room ijn the Sky a few months ago, I'm stuck with air drying. I'm wondering what will happen when it ceases being an option drying outside. I have a wood rack and a line inside, but I'm not sure how well they'll work in winter...
