Attention What are you doing at the moment? 2026

Just contemplating how fast your life can change. I went out to get breakfast and 75% of the driveway was clear, but there were a few icy spots. As I walked confidently to my car I slipped, my legs flew in front of me, I and fell on my back and side. The side of my eye glasses touched the pavement. The glasses didn't break or bend and I wasn't seriously hurt. After a minute I was going to stand up, but realized I was at a slippery spot and crawled over 2 feet before I stood up. If I had been hurt I could have laid on the driveway an hour before someone noticed and helped me, but I had my old flip top cell phone in my pocket and could have taken it out and turned it on and called for help.

Yesterday's mail brought a notice from a neighboring suburb's police court saying a camera had caught me speeding 31 MPH in a school zone of 20 MPH at 2:11PM just 4 days after I had picked up my new car, and was for my old car. Other than the school zone the speed limit is 35 MPH. My brother had been driving the car. He says that he didn't see any flashing yellow lights and he was moving with the other traffic. The fine is $220. We have some questions, like did the other cars also get a ticket, most of the time that speed is just for school times and that is too late for their lunch hour and awfully early for school to be letting out? We don't suppose we would win if we contested it and not sure whose driving record we should put it on, we are both elderly.

At the end of a Tuesday and back from the Doc's.

I have my Epipens now and using a regular antihistamine. I don't think the allergies helped my pneumonia last week.

About to take my Mizzy her tea and lay down with her for an hour or so before supper.

Still waiting to hear from Sissi's real Mom.

Steaming about an Internet outage. At least, I have some mobile data I can use, while waiting for the wired service to come back. I don't like using mobile--it's slow where I live for the carrier, and the data is limited, so I need to limit what I do a bit to conserve. (Meaning no videos of naked guys doing things together...) Although I do like the convenience of something I can use during power or ISP failures.

At least, the ISP sent an e-mail saying they know of and will fix the problem.

This comes about a month after another issue. That time--unlike now--I needed to spend an hour on the phone to get my problem fixed, plus a shorter(but still annoying) followup call later. (That problem eas specifuc to me--tonight's is a neighborhood outage.)
