It is of my opinion only that the coffee industry is adding something to quell bitterness in both house blends and even more so in breakfast blends coffee.I wonder how many house blends are carefuuly crafted? And how many are just all the coffee they need to use up ASAP mixed together?
But the FDA allows some ingredients to be left out. I know that flavored coffees use propylene glycol and spray the beans to adhere the flavor more intensive.
Unless it's in the roasting process. I don't know....
But you can make them as strong as you want and there is never any bitterness at all.
I love the breakfast blends especially.

I still feel like death warmed over and have had to sit through ZOOM meetings with people who seem to have no shred of common sense.
And again, who seem to want to reflexively dispute the very fine advice I am giving them.

I am going to drink a hot rum toddy fro my throat and chest now.
