Attention What are you doing at the moment? 2026

A meeting day from hell today.

Trying to keep up with client staff who seem to be desperate to find problems to lay blame at others' doors for.

Getting ready for some homemade soup for supper tonight.

Googling the difference between right now and at the moment

Edit: according to Google AI

"Right now" emphasizes the immediate, precise present moment (this very second), often with urgency, while "at the moment" refers to the current general period, implying a situation that might change soon.

I was just looking at Apple's website,. On the home page, there was this pitch: "There's still time to make their holiday one of a kind." Complete with a handy "Shop gifts" button, which leads to a page full of modest gift ideas, like new laptops.

Now, I sadly wonder what it might be like if there was someone in my life who valued me enough to put a new MacBook Air under my non-existent tree.

Oh, hell--forget the MacBook Air. Let's go with a MacBook Pro. If you fantasize about "won't happen" gifts, you might as well max out the fantasy.

I spent a good chunk of time bringing a Clinton-era computer back to life. I HOPE it will work for my annual holiday mailing. We'll see. It's either an obsolete computer, or using the library computers. There is no way in hell that I'll do this mailing using this fucking smart phone.

Not that I think anyone would be saddened NOT to hear from me this year--or ever again...

Glad you got it working!

Not a lot of computers can still handle your dial up connection!
