Just solved a New York Times crossword puzzle in one minute eight seconds!

Oh, OK...it's the "Mini" puzzle they have online...but let's forget that, since one minute eight seconds isn't so impressive for a mini puzzle.

Crying again listening to Zelensky. It just always gets to me. I'm not even hawkish. It

why doesnt he change his shirt
I imagine he has many such shirts. It is a symbolic uniform, communicating he is one of the people, not above them. He has intentionally abandoned formal attire for "the duration," to signal to his countrymen that he is in the fight with them. Indeed, he has gone personally to the battlefront on multiple occasions. Has Putin?

Zelensky is Jewish. Their culture has a long history of very fine custom tailors, who rival any Italians in formal wear. No doubt, he has offers from a variety of proud Ukrainians or even Jewish tailors "in the Diaspora" around the world, who would proudly supply him with the best of custom wear.

But, he remembers his role as LEADER, not merely a governor, unlike our former president, who summoned Zelensky to play the organ grinder monkey when using him to try to avoid the certain consequences of being a representative of a hard right faction, not the president of the people. Do you think Zelensky looked better in the suit when dancing for his country's survival?

Waiting for the blizzard ...

I’m waiting for the last half hour of work to pass so I can start the 4 day holiday

Exhausted after a day of physio, then walking through malls to finish my shopping for my partner's stocking and rushing back to to a ZOOM meeting.

I am fucking wrung out.

As I said to one of the people hobbling around physio who was about my age....it isn't as though we weren't warned by grandparents, great aunts and uncles and parents that getting older would be the shits.

About to get ready for a virtual appointment with the nice therapist who will help me cope with Christmas related depression. I hope.

It'll be the first appointment, so it'll be interesting to see what this therapist is like compared to the last. I know nothing about him--I just got assigned at random when the last therapist left. Although I can't think he can possibly be worse than the last therapist. Indeed, I've wanted a new therapist for some time, but the last time I asked, I got the "we can't transfer you--we don't have anyone available!" line. Funny how suddenly when they are forced to transfer or else lose a client, who brings in a few pennies, they can find a way of making the transfer happen.

Well you always have us to help you through Christmas related depression.

It isn't the worst. Find whatever joy you can in the transition from winter to longer days and looking forward to spring.

Treat yourself to something.

I just got through mowing the back yard, after mowing the front yard two days ago. Some of the grass had still gone to seed, which I can never recall that happening before in December. It has been quite warm, and it was unusually wet in November. But all that grass growing should be over, as the nighttime temps are supposed to drop in the 40s over the next couple of days.

I also bought a few groceries at ALDI and Publix to get me through Christmas.

Finished with my appointment. Really "fun" given the bureaucratic paperwork that had to be done to appease those running the group practice. Even though I've been going to said practice for years. Although I guess the records that my previous therapist left behind about me were terrible and said nothng. Well, there was the single sheet of paper that said: "I CAN'T STAND THIS ME203 NUT ONE DAY--I QUIT!!!!!!"

Me too. I figured, now that the days are getting longer, I'd get on the mower after work and mow back up some leaves into windrows, and maybe I can get out tomorrow or Saturday and rake them onto a tarp and drag away to the creekside.

Also had six large Crytomeria in 3-gal pots, not yet planted, so I brought them in the garage, finisihed stacking wood in the garage to feed teh stove downstairs, and more loads to the deck up front for the living room fireplace. I only have a heat pump, so it's not going to be able to keep up with 8 degrees F.

Thinking of running the Emergency Heat on the two units to see if that works, but would probably need to sell my truck to pay for it. :D

Also went to Aldi last night, specifically for eggs, and they had none. Nada. Nyet. Nil. Had to go to Publix.

It just occurred to me that I probably wasted time putting out new suet cakes. It's gonna be so cold, I think it will freeze the fat.

I tried.
