What are you having for dinner tonight?

Hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, coleslaw, potato salad, vegetables and banana pudding.

Doubtless something out of a can or bag. =-/

Right now I'm thinking some sort of soup with microwaved basmati rice. Probably slightly preceded by bread slathered with coconut oil and almond butter. It's a bit bleak but it's all I can manage at the moment.

We had roast chicken with stuffing, roast potatoes, roast sweet potatoes, broccoli, red cabbage and carrots.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Peking Duck with sticky rolls, duck soup, pork fried rice. Good God, multiple food orgasms...my first experience with Peking duck, which is hella work and not often offered to "walk-in" customers in places. This place, Sun Wah in Chicago's UPTOWN neighborhood, is a place that I certainly hope to get back to, and they CAN offer Peking duck to walk-ins with certainty because it's their biggest specialty and they sell it almost by the ton.

The LAST bite (yeah, when I was full), a couple slices of skin-on duck, when I savored that final bite, was very possibly the most wonderful and exceptional mouthful of ANYTHING that I have ever experienced in my lifetime. My "present company" at the time, certainly helped the experience as well. This guy has been extremely helpful in my efforts to downsize enough to BE ABLE to move.

Yes, that's a restaurant that I hope to get back to. Indeed, things are in motion - officially so as of yesterday the 20th. (This timing is entirely irrelevant to anything political, it just happened.) Yes, I've entered the "foothills" of moving to Chicago. There's a good chance that, by a year from today, that restaurant (and countless places that are closer) will be within an "ambitious" walk from me, not much more than a mile.
