Attention What are you having for dinner?

Sounds good. My roommate does that with stuffed cabbage. He does it in a casserole. Same ingredients, but much easier. (Don't tell Vannie) :-$
Vannie isn't actively posting, so we can finally be open with our opinions of cabbage!

Liker "Stuffed cabbage is called stuffed cabbage because it should be stuffed in a trash can."

Jokes aside, I think there is a lot to be said for same ingedients, but easier. At least, I find it the easier cooking is, the more likely I'll do it.

Last night I had shrimp scampi. I hadn't had it in years, after a couple of disappointing restaurant experiences, with overcooked rubbery shrimp. I also never made it from scratch. I found a recipe, gave it a try, and it was delicious. I was careful not to overcook the shrimp, and used plenty of garlic. Yum, yum.

I am a traditionalist like Vannie...I make cabbage rolls once a year and then we freeze and reheat.

At this point, even though I learned the how of making them from Martha Stewart and her mom...we have our own recipe for the filling.

So delicious.

When I have a baked potato it is cooked in the oven. It may get nuked for a couple of minutes to speed up the process - but the skin is so much better when they are really baked.
Absolutely! We have a local steak house that doesn't do the foil wrap baked patato but does it the old fashion way. Plus they roll it in pretzel salt (coarse sea salt). It is so good.

The McRib returned 2 days ago in my area for the next month or so...so I had to get one. I leave off the onions. I usually get a couple of them before the limited time items goes away. They are not great ($5) but it is something different. We don't have a BBQ place in my community.

That pie looks so yummy!! My family is have pecan pie for our Thanksgiving...but it will be a store bought frozen one that you thaw and serve. I had purchased a frozen pumpkin to bake and serve, but got over ruled by the menu planner. So now they are getting a thaw and serve pecan.

I had a Thanksgiving meal platter at a local cafe. It included turkey, cranberry sauce, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy, sweet potatoes, corn, dinner roll, ice tea, and peach pie. Nothing else was served for the day off the menu other than drinks and an alternate of cherry pie. It was $16 plus tax & tip.

Tonight, I believe it is a dish made with the last of the shortribs.

I have upgraded my precious 'mato sammich to include red onions and a little bit of mustard.

Gnocchi soup with sausage and spinach. It was absolutely delicious, my guy made it. Yum, yum.
