Hey Guys!

I'm still in my Birthday Boy High, acting all crazy now - but I don't care cuz I'm gonna post what has to be the most improbable tune to top the charts in 1978. When I first heard this song I thought my radio was channeling the "Oldie Zone", circa 1960.

The song is "Fool (If You Think It's Over)" by Chris Rea and this song, believe it or not, struck a cord with me and my friends as well as the vast radio listening public in 1978. The song just took-off like a rocket and quickly climbed all the major music charts, and in the process, making Chris Rea the most surprised and happy singer/songwriter of the late 70's.

"Fool (If You Think It's Over)" is cool in a sorta anti-disco way that just brings a smile to my face whenever I hear it. Nothing else that year sounds quite like it! It takes me right back to 1978 and late nights with my college friends at TGI Friday's full of dancing under the stars and watching beautiful women stepping out of long, long automobiles, like the Continental Mark V.
