  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

what are your favorite pies?

Cherry or Apple pie work just fine with me.

All of the Aussies in this thread know what's up. It's all about the meat pie ..| (can't say I'm a fan of the pea soup, though).

I am suprised there isn't more meat pie discussion! oh the joys.

I do like meat pies as well, though I rarely have them. The old "Hungry Man" Swanson pies used to be the best, but they no longer exist.

But once one starts talking about meat pies, it's easy to include their kissin' cousins such as pasties and samosas...

At least in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where pasties are popular, rutabaga is often used instead of potatoes, which oddly is mentioned nowhere in the wiki article. Perhaps that is a Finnish adaptation, as pasties there are more regarded as "Finnish" than British.

The cold water Crisco recipe works good for softer, juicier fruit fillings..

Some years back my husband made a blueberry/raspberry pie - the fruit was fresh picked, and the crust came out so flawless he could spin the pie in the pie-plate.

Pies should be like donuts-"cream" filled!!

Pies should be like boyfriends-cream filled.

...it can be combined with fresh fruits too.

"Do you prefer to eat your pie with fruits?"
"No, I prefer to it alone, thanks."

And, although it's not technically a "pie", it strongly resembles one in form: Cheesecake!!!:
