  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What did you have for dinner?

New Zealand rack of lamb, scalloped potatoes, steamed fresh broccoli and I made a Sauce Bernaise to go with the lamb and the broccoli. Seriously, guys, Costco has the best lamb racks year 'round and they're not really expensive! ..|

Homemade meat sauce (I used sausage & meatballs) with Barilla Piccolini Wagon Wheels pasta. (I'm out of my favorite short pasta, mini penne)

They still tasted pretty good...:D

keeping it simple tonite with baked chicken wings and some white rice and veggies

I had a freaking awesome dinner tonight.

I finally gave my steamboat set a go. Look it up online if you don't know what steamboat is.

All the following on the table around the steamboat

Steamed Rice

Noodles:
Udon Noodles
Soba Noodles

Meats:
Beef strips
Beef marinated in Soy, Sherry, Sesame Oil
Chicken marinated in Soy, Sherry, Sesame Oil
Chicken marinated in Lemon, Fish Sauce, Peanut Oil

Vegies:
Bok Choy
Spring Onions
Carrot
Bean Sprouts
Snow Peas
Brocollini

Side Sauces + :
Satay Sauce
Soy Sauce
Plum Sauce
Hoisin Sauce
Lemon Wedges

Broth:
Chicken Stock
Ginger
Lemon Grass
Spring Onion
Coriander

The meats were cooked on the tepanyaki grill in the middle of the steamboat, the rest (except rice) cooked in the moat containing the broth of the steamboat.

I wish I took a photo. Didn't think about it at the time.

The meal was a triumph. I was giving it a trial run before new years when I'm planning on doing it again. Can't wait.

My usual Friday Beer Battered Fish Fry, Chowder and Side Salad for lunch, later at night, when I felt a bit hungry, I had a simple pleasure - a Fluffernutter.

That Steamboat sounds extraordinary. A veritable oriental smorgasbord.

Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce.

And one of my all time favorite dishes, Singapore Noodles. Yum!

^oh yum.

I had a double bacon cheeseburger, 5 poptarts, some weird cheesy ravioli thing, and this roast beef pizza.

:D
