  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What did you have for dinner?

Mills, you had a prolific day - went from 6000 to 6052 posts in just about a day!

I didn't have enough Velveeta, so I added shredded Colby Jack and some Cabot White Cheddar to the Li'l Smokey Mac 'n Cheese. Rich! Had leftover corn and beans, so skipped the broccoli. Everyone ate their fill.

I had some heat-and-serve Madras Lentils, to which I added some fried hamburger (thus suddenly transforming it, via the use of COW pieces, into a dish distinctly no longer Indian).

Yummy! - I put half of it away as leftovers to be used in a couple days.

Plus some steamed spinach, green beans and asparagus (mixed).

This was actually about 2:30 this afternoon that I had my "dinner."

Dinner was a bit boring (BACT), so I'll tell you about lunch.

Pubert and I have been talking about going to this soul food place for over two years. But their hours are squirrely (they close at 6 most days!) so we tend to forget about it. We finally remembered and went over there today.

Fried chicken, mac and cheese, coleslaw, cornbread, iced lemon cake, ice cream, and red Kool Aid. I'm gonna be WiiFitting like a madman trying to work that off. But totally worth it. :D

Never been drunk, so can't attest to the power of Taco Bell for a hangover cure. Pubert swears by 7-11 hot dogs with pico de gallo.

Hamburgers on the grill (real charcoal for a change), grilled red potato salad with a white wine vinaigrette dressing, baked beans (from a can).

For the record, Lunch is a meal usually eaten midday. Supper is an evening meal. Dinner refers to the Main Meal of the day, which can either occur around the noon hour or later in the day, the time of day is immaterial, the words 'Lunch' or 'Supper' are then replaced with 'Dinner'. Brunch is a large meal eaten after breakfast time and perhaps running through lunch time, and usually substitutes for both. These are 'official' American English definitions, your mileage may vary, as we know nobody uses proper language anymore.

Your results may vary based on your local and family customs.

Just got back from our favourite Italian restaurant where I had a massive slab of crumbed, garlic infused chicken breast parmigiana with beer battered potato wedges and a garden salad. It was delicious!

Hey, we just bought some to make sure there was fluff in the cupboard, in case I wanted to make one -- Comfort food!

blackened shrimp n scallops. pasta salad. late nite snack was a tall glass of milk and strawberry pop tarts!:p

Couldn't have "dinner" as I worked all night.

During my frequent, but short, breaks I was able to eat a turkey avocado and onion sandwich, later I had a yogurt, still later a mixed bag of raw vegies, and lastly a handful of raw almonds. All this spread over maybe six hours...

I'm home now and having a glass or two of wine.

Squid a la mode? Intriguing. Tell me more.

Calamari con gelato cappucino?

I had lamb chops tonight with homemade rice pilaf and corn on the cob.

It's a little too early for corn on the cob in my part of the country -- Need about 6-7 weeks. Imported from down south just isn't the same as fresh off the farm.

Strawberries in about 3 weeks. Local, can't beat them.

We had grilled chicken breast, basamati rice, green beans, with mushroom soup sauce.

Flavourful, and the best part - I didn't have to cook it!

Dessert - Banana Sour Cream Pie- my son and his GF went out for a bite - the pie broke when they tried to plate -they got two pieces free.

The proprietress of this restaurant makes all of their desserts - to die for. Rich, decadent.

Three nutter butters, A bag of original lays and a piece of trident.
