  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What did you have for dinner?

last night I grilled a small lamb chop, rice pilaf, green beans and another small lamb chop

Moo Cow Skim.
Sorry for not being more precise.
Italian4 cheese blend on the shredded cheese.

I had my usual Friday Beer-battered Fish Fry, New England Clam Chowder and Side Salad w/ Balsamic Vinaigrette, coffee - and some surprise visitors as I was finishing up - so I powered down from my perusing a bit suddenly.

Not sure what's on offer for dinner - either leftover grilled chicken or grilled turkey an such. . .

We decided we'd had enough poultry this week.
I pulled a steak out of the freezer, thawed in hot water while I fired up the grill, and we had mooing grilled steak.
plus homefries out of our oven roasted potatoes.

It was meat in a cryovac pack - watertight.
I was quick thawing, didn't want to put in the M'wave because
a) I couldn't get the packaging off completely frozen and it has a mylar laminate on it
b) M'wave, even on lower "defrost" settings can cook the corners.

The hot water was Tap hot, and it thawed the meat evenly, w/out fear of it cooking on me.

A feast at a Korean restaurant, sort of like the following photo:

We had pizza and wings, after we had a grilled (roasted whole on gas grill) turkey breast sandwich for a late afternoon snack.

Meal schedule was a bit skewed.
Breakfast was omelets made of:
Eggs
Home fries (took some leftover oven roasted small potatoes from party last weekend out of the freezer),
Diced, sauteed onions
Some of the aforementioned grilled/smoked turkey breast
Provolone
Monk's Cinnamon Raisin Toast (New, Light - not as tasty as the regular, but 50 calories and 3g fiber per slice)

Then did a family movie day - youngest wanted to see Eclipse, #3 in the Twilight series - I hadn't even seen #1 yet.

I think I mentioned in not banned -we stopped by Casa Larga, our local Estate Winery, picked up a few bottles of their Ross - a light red, for Sangria mixings at some point, bought a pint of their joint venture w/ Moolight Creamery - a decadent Pinot Noir Ice cream - has a bit of Chambord in it and just a hint of lemon, too. Rich, yet lighter flavoured than Black Raspberry. A very nice treat.

I had Green Pepper Beef for "Dinner" this afternoon.
Just had some turkey thigh.
Had a soft pretzel at the concert intermission.

BTW, Celtic Women put on a great concert. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
