  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What do I have to do to be invited into the Conference Room B?

^ You made the claim first.

This is adorkable. Pat is pretending to engage in a fact-based rational discussion and playing positive assertion games.

You never respond to any reasoned response.

Isn't this the point at which you make some kind of remark about Catholics?

P.S. Nice weather we're having, isn't it?

Can I please pretend to be Scottish? I dyed my hair red today, and I've got great legs so I'd kill in a kilt!

…admitting he hasn't spent more than 15 minutes on the subject he spoke of.

Are you taking about Star Trek again. That show operates to a formula. 15 minutes in the 60s is the same as 15 minutes in the 70s , 80s 90s and now.

Did Wilde write four plays or five?

- - - Updated - - -

Can you name the two words that Wilde uses in every single one of his works?

Did Wilde become more formulaic with age?

That's the stupidest question I've ever read on here, and I frequent Telly's disasterpiece threads. Even if I didn't know, twenty seconds on Google would give me the answer.

Besides, I get the feeling you don't know the answers to any of those questions any more than you think I do.

^ Mmm that sounds like more sarcasm.

Those words in that little square are a quote by Oscar Wilde. So it's Oscar Wilde who's the fairly well-known authority on wit. Have you heard about Oscar Wilde?

The question is..... Do you know who good ol' Oscar got that from?

What's the capital of California?

^ Is it sacramento?

What is Davis?

Why did Gertrude Stein think Oakland is a dump?

Where is Russian River and do all they men go nude there?

is that appalling old Thurston Howell III a member of the Bohemian Club in San Francisco?

Is it true that California pioneered the notion of 'White Flight"?

Do any men swim nude at venice Beach?

I hear California sand is grey.

Is it true that Californian schools try to downplay the fact that the Japanese bombed the place in '42?

Does the conspiracy plot in the movie 'Chinatown' have any basis in fact?

Is it true that the remnant Babylon set in DW Griffith's Intolerance is buried in the sand?

I'm sure you've heard at least a total of 15 minutes of information at some point in your entire lifetime about Los Angeles. That's the standard of excellence for Patgrimshaw knowledge about a topic, so you tell us the answers!

Were I you I would keep pat grimshaw and Comrad as trolls and create a third persona.

Recommended: an engineer (you can get tips from Douggie), a tax accountant, or a concert musician.

^Check the Current Pics thread. I have more than enough left over to dye my pubes, by the way... if I want to deal with absurd amounts of pain.

When one post out of a thousand doesn't match the preceding 999, it's generally believed that that one post is a clue to the poster's true persona. And I don't think I'd argue that. But it's also generally believed that that one post was accidental. That I'm not so sure I'm on board with.

I don't watch either. But has she filled the great vacuum left by the departure of that Oprah? All those advertisers, corporations and PR merchants need an innocuous, anodyne, inoffensive showcase to sell their products/services to the great unthinking, undiscerning audience who have to buy and use all their products to keep the economy going.

Indeed.
