  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

What do you order at Starbucks?

Well when your company loves what it does, roasts its own coffee, and grinds beans every day that were roasted no more than two weeks previously... you end up with some damn good drip coffee. And I'm not really a coffee snob either. Indie shops that don't have coffee? Sounds like they just want to capitalize on the ambience.

I've given up on most of the indie coffeeshops in my neighborhood (yup, in Portland) because....they never have coffee brewed. :##: Seriously, I've stopped patronizing two separate businesses (selling Stumptown) because these coffeeshops don't have coffee ready on a regular basis.

Now, I know why they don't have coffee ready, and it's for a noble reason: the freshness of the brew. We want to drink coffee that has been recently ground and roasted and even more recently brewed, best of all to order somehow, though airpots are arguably acceptable. Still, I demand a modicum of convenience: I want a cup of coffee without a wait. Inevitably, the ideal of freshness has circumvented any actual freshly brewed coffee on the premises.

I admit I become somewhat neurotically irritated when this happens now, as it has happened, well, dozens of times.

Sadly, this sometimes means a Venti No Room whatever's darker coffee. Yech.

Otherwise, I take refuge in my vacuum pot.

The hot spiced apple cider was the last drink I bought there...last winter. It was very sweet.

Nothing. I can't stand StarBucks coffee.

I only do Starbucks when I'm traveling, and then it's just a venti house blend.

I have a fantastic coffee shop very close to home that serves a yummy organic dark roast with free refills all day. (!)

I'm about to get a Venti London Fog with sugar free vanilla and half and half.

Delicious!

Well obviously you're not going to Starbucks because a London Fog is not on their menu.

If you were at Starbucks you would be ordering a Venti breve sugar free vanilla Earl Grey tea misto.

Me I order a venti unsweetened shaken black tea lemonade.

My usual at Starbucks is a venti classic iced green tea.

Second favorite is the green tea frappuccino.

In the fall, like now, I sometime order the pumpkin spice frappuccino.

But I'm not a real big coffee drinker.

The one time per year that I actually find myself in a Starbucks, I order either a "large cappuccino" or a "large black coffee". In those exact terms.

They changed the name of the London Fog to Earl Grey something. I still call it London Fog and they make it like I want it

No Starbuck's for me.

I keep trying to find Peter.

Here he is

Iced Venti vanilla latte and a glazed donut (sometimes)

I'd really like to order the barista with the blue eyes and gorgeous smile.

Cant remember the last time I was at a starbucks, but typically if i ever get a "coffee" it's a double shot of espresso

Tall Double Shot Double Blended Java Chip Frappuccino.
