mate, I have appreciated your efforts over the years. Keep it up!

Ditto! Soilwork certainly has the better of the discussion here. He's an active JUB member and provides some great pictures for those who appreciate the young male body. I say thanks.

jasun,

don't let a couple of whiney relative newbees get your shorts in a twist.

most all of us know how much you personally (and your company too) contribute to the jub experience and appreciate it. truth to tell, i guess i'm stupid 'cause i never considered your posts as spam.

head up and keep on with your current actions. many of us appreciate it, in fact think you need to post more often and not just pictures, we miss your ascerbic wit and wisdom.

Jasun... I love your posts and I love your guys! Any time I see a new post from you I always check it out... the guys are so hot. Keep it up!

I don't think it matters whether a member joined JUB five years ago, five months ago, or yesterday, but for some reason Left Coast Mikey seems to think it does!

OK, I know Soilwork has his fans and they have jumped to his defense. Fair enough. However, I'm sorry nobody (moderators included) addressed the issue I mentioned in my earlier post:

Six months ago, I came across a site which I thought my fellow Jubbers would appreciate (it featured hot guys!) so I thought I'd let everyone know. I gave a link and sung the site's praises. OK, I was new and didn't know the rules and I posted the link twice (i.e. on two different forums.)

In a day or so, both threads were deleted and I received a PM from a Mod (admitedly a very polite and courteous one) reminding me of the Code of Conduct and the rule that says "Please do not engage in the spamming of commercial websites." I didn't get any points or anything, just what he called "a friendly heads up."

I start a thread (OK, two threads) to inform people of a site which I thought would have been of interest, only to have them deleted.

Soilwork spams JUB over and over and over and over, and that's OK!

Am I being unreasonable when I say that it's unfair to have one rule for some and another rule for others?

i think it does matter how new the member is, but not in a derogatory way. it matters because they might not know that Jasun (soilwork) is part of company that affiliates itself with JUB. and the older members (like myself) will remember Jasun before he was working with Fratmen, and he is not just some spammer.

the reason your threads might have been deleted is the fact that many "gurella marketers" sign on as members and then spam the hell out of the boards with repeated threads for the same site. that is probably what caused the red flag.

why dont you put up your thread again? im sure we would all like to see you link. i know when i have recomended a site, i hotlink pics from the site, and then direct a link, and give it a personal touch. you cannot blame the site for trying to weed out spammers. dont make something that is not personal into a personal matter. nobody is out to get you or treat you unfairly.

and dont forget that Jason is also a representative of Fratmen.com, a company that not only helps to pay the bills to JUB, but also distributes free porn here, and is a great contributor, and also works on behalf of his company. so it is NOT spam by its very definition, it is just part of the marketing that you see blasted all over the home page.

and why has no mod addressed your "issue", because perhaps its an issue that you yourself have created. nobody is treating you unfairly, if anything, it was a simple misunderstanding that you have taken personally and blown way way way out of proportion. they probably have no idea what the hell you are talking about.

I think I explained quite clearly why Jasun's presence and posts are acceptable, and therefore by default that would explain why your posts of the website weren't.

However, as wanderer has explained (very well) we DO have to deal with spammers on a daily basis. The posting of duplicate threads leading to the same website is one of the first things that alerts us. I've tried to find those posts but they have been hard deleted so I can't even comment on the website. As you are not the owner or employee of the website, I'd have appealed to the Moderator and pointed this out. We very rarely stop people posting a link to their favourite sites or blogs unless they are on our prohibited or censored list, if they are too similar a site to JUB or if their content breaks with our CoC.

So yes, please feel free to post the link in a new thread if necessary, this is, after all, what JUB is about - linking. :D

they probably have no idea what the hell you are talking about.
This is true, if your dislike of Jasun and all things Fratmen is personal - as it is for a couple of other members - then fine, but if it stems from having your two threads removed, then you really should have said so earlier. We're always available via a PM, and we really aren't nasty people - honestly! With an average of 1000 people online 24hrs a day, and thousands of posts an hour, we don't have the time to analyse reasons behind behaviour - nor are we mindreaders (which is perhaps not a bad thing on this site!)

So if you want to post the link and tell us what you love about the site, please do, or if you'd rather check with me first, PM me and I'll let you know yay or nay.

Dave

Perhaps, a policy to rectify this could be to label all such posts with an "ad" icon (need to provide one). Also, if an "ad" posting is to be deleted, let the poster know the fee required to post ads here, and state the policy in the FAQs.
As far as the poll goes, Jasun if the carpet is supposed to match the drapes, shouldn't you shave your crotch?
I really don't think it's worthwhile going to all that trouble.

1. Out of 150,000+ members, only 4 that I can think of seem to have a problem with Fratmen's posts.

2. Out of those 4, nothing Fratmen/Jasun says or does will stop the personal issues that you and Icarus seem to feel towards them/him. With this in mind, I personally discount your opinions in this matter, because it is too much of a personal issue for the two of you.

3. It would appear that PodPond's issue may be more about the apparent double standards that he felt JUB was showing due to an unfortunate start here - and I now understand why he feels/felt that way. That may or may not be rectified now.

4. That just leaves Bi-Focal, who may or may not have an issue with Fratmen/Jasun. Elsewhere, most of his posts are what I feel are good, common sense posts. We have had a disagreement in one thread, but what he posts always seems fair to me, so it could be that he genuinely just doesn't like what he considers to be 'spam'.

As far as advertising and policy info in FAQ, there is already a link in section 1 for that.

And of course your final remark just confirms my thoughts in #2 above.

Yet again, if it offends you so much, simply use the 'Ignore' facility, or better still, email Fratmen or Jasun direct - instead of using JUB as a medium to air your personal grievances.

^ With all due respect, and bear with me on this. Jasun has always promoted Fratmen on JUB since he started working for them. Looking at your post history, you were really positive about Fratmen (and the images that Jasun was posting) in the beginning. Then from about Feb last year, your opinion changed dramatically. The vast majority of your posts since then have all been negative towards Fratmen and also Jasun. And now because Jasun isn't biting and is providing more information and being more customer focussed by answering questions simply and precisely, you now have a problem with him posting pictures for our members.

Based on those facts (and you can check back on up to 250 of your posts and Jasuns) I think I - and other members here - DO 'get it'.

Should you have any further issues with this kind of sponsorship, then I would suggest you take them up with JD or Seth.

Quasar, I have no idea what your last post has to do with the issue at hand.

I'll guarantee you that any "personal" issues we lowly members of JUB may have do not bias our thinking nearly as much as the cash biases yours.
*sigh* The issue at hand is that you don't like 'spamming' by Fratmen.

Mmmn, but it was okay for Fratmen to post their images and news until you didn't like Fratmen... didn't complain about the 'spamming' then, did you?

There are no 'lowly' members of JUB and I'll guarantee that other members can clearly see from your posts that your personal issues are biasing your thinking. I just find it strange that you pay a membership fee to a site that you don't like. (and I'm presuming you're a member to be able to critique it in the way that you do - unless you're another one of Jasun's marketing tools).

Why does everything have to turn into a fight?

Back to topic. Jasun if you're still there...
I don't particularly like either of those.

"The sum of the parts" is math and thinking isn't what I would want from this lovely boy.

"The carpet matches the drapes" sounds too much like Home Depot but I like the idea.

So if I could suggest instead "Calvin: Cuff and Collar".

Just an idea.
