I don't think stopping illegal immigration would be that hard: put new military bases on the Mexican border, and have units make random patrols. Abrams tanks roving through the night ought to discourage crossings.

And get corporations to move operations from overseas to Mexico, if they need cheaper labor -- more jobs there will keep Mexicans home.

We could have tank races with the Mexicans -- that would really be a deterrent.

Besides, it only signals an invasion if it's not regular bases.

Besides again, who would want to invade Mexico? If we want more Mexicans, all we have to do is keep ignoring our border.

I have another idea... if people are so angry about drugs, deal with American society. Demand creates the problem. And Mexico would be fully justified to take counter measures... the US has no business disrespecting a country where it has many factories in anyways.
